NERVOUSPETE

Wednesday: 6:15 PM - In a galaxy far, far away, Luke Skywalker & Princess Leia realise too late that they are related, and their cretinous offspring provide no match to the evil Lord David-James-Earl-Prowse in a cape. Meanwhile, a young lad returns from his hard day working at the library... now read on...

The door burst open I staggered into the hall, sweating profusely and gnawing savagely upon my jumper sleeves. "Firefly! Where is it?!" I cried, flinging aside letters and parcels next to the telephone.
Two men appeared in the kitchen doorway. "Who are you? What are you doing in our house?" they demanded. I looked them carefully in the face and recalled that I did not share a house with Patrick Swayze and Steve Guttenberg. I apologised and left their home, mentally noting that if Steve Guttenberg wanted his ball back, he shouldn't clamber over the fence and upset the tulips. Remembering the object of my ardour, I ran into the correct house this time and rummaged frantically through the mail. Bereft of any pleasant chunky parcel from Amazon.co.uk I fell to my knees and directed my screaming at a bleak, dull and depressing sky. Rupert Murdoch's network thoroughly blasted with this aural assault, I poked my head out of the window and observing the heavens noted that it looked like rain - a fitting backdrop to the watery pain in my soul. (Hold on, 'watery pain'?) But wait, what could this card be? Aha! A note from the postman, stating that the parcel was being held hostage down at the local post office, and that only by gracing them with my presence, performing an arcane ritual and giving them a bottle of Dandelion & Burdock could I retrieve it. A curious mixture of joy and depression filled me. I was a mere day away from finally getting to watch Firefly, the show that I have only ever seen one episode of.

And so I take my frustrations out on you lot. Expect another report when I have grabbed the package, ripped it open and watched the first few episodes. Cheerio!

P.S: Thank you for your lovely replies to my previous posts, I love you all. And as an answer to a question, yes, I quite like Python, but my main comedy loves are Reeves & Mortimer (when they were good) Chris Morris, Father Ted, Spaced, Black Books and the writings of the deeply obscure Amiga Power writer Jonathan Nash. What an astonishingly pointless volley of useless information. Sorry.

STARHAND

Courage brother browncoat. Fix a tall glass of something soothing, sit down, stare at the wall and feel the orgiastic anticipatory pleasure build. Soon, soon all 4 precious disks will be in your hands. When that happens I expect we won't hear from you for several days. Except maybe moans of happiness and joy.

Cheers

p.s. Swayze and Guttenberg? Get thee to a different neighborhood. Sounds like the one you're in might be built on a Hellmouth.

DELIA

I always have such fun reading your posts. Nice, too, to know that getting parcels from Amazon is as much of a hassle on your side of the Atlantic as it is on mine.

Enjoy your DVD's.

ZOID

NervousPete:

On the other hand, I recommend a monastic approach. Repeat after me:

"Pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem." Whack (strikes head with rather large, meticulously decorated chunk of one-by-ten)

"Pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem." Whack

"Pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem." Whack

"Pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem." Whack, stagger...

Repeat as necessary, until either inner peace or unconsciousness result...

Respectfully,

zoid

P.S.
Thanks to Monty Python's Completely Useless Web Site for the groovy lyrics...
