BADGERSHAT

Hey folks, a question from your beloved Hat...

I looked back at my recent "Brown Domination" thread, and read it start to end...

... and I'm a little unsure on how I started to become known as "Jefé"..... ??

Not that I mind, of course, just wondering where it origimicated.

Thanks.

MALICIOUS

I don't remember exactly, but I do recall thinking, "This guy has a bit of a Napoleon complex" after I read your request to be called that.... !!

Mal-licious

ZOID

El Jefé Magnifico, BadgersHat:

A couple folks had referred to you as "Badgershat" in posts on the thread. Recalling that you and I had discussed whether it was 'Badger Shat' or 'Badger's Hat' (or 'shat in Badger's hat') and that you had said it made you laugh, I pointed out the difference to the rest o' the group. This resulted in the following response by Gunhand:

Yeah it does look pretty funny...which is why I spelled it like that. Juvenile pranks and all that.

I humbly beg Jefe Hat's forgiveness.

I seconded his title for the Chief Executive of ThisLand as 'Jefé', since 'President' has fallen into disrepute. BTW, in case you didn't know, 'Jefé' simply means 'Boss', has no negative connotations that I'm aware of, and is a term of respect South o' the border.

Of course, I originally thought 'Caesar Badgicus'; but then I thought, "Nah, 'cause then we'd have to redo all the names of the months." I mean 'September' -- which means '7th month' -- is already pushed back to 9th position because of Julius and Augustus.

Thirteen months in the year is only going to confuse the issue...

Schizophrenically Yours (no, mine!),

... you did it again, Zoid, the nasal spewage, what with the Ceaser Badgicus... I'm gonna git you, sucka!

As for my Napoleon complex... actually, i'm rather tall...

I didn't think Jefé had any negative connotations, I was just a little lost where it came from. I actually kinda like it, and as you may have noticed, I added it to my official signature.

Hmmm... Ceaser Badgicus... it has a certain ring to it...

GUNHAND

Just got done with a nine episode Firefly conversion marathon. Two more in the bag. Mwuhahaha.

But Zoid hit the nail on the head, was all my mistake and way to apease the mighty Jefé Imperator Ceaser Badgicus, Consul for Life of This Land.

And no, I don't know where I come up with half this stuff...

Could be worse, I could have said Grand Poobah.

... The Mighty Jefé Imperator Ceaser Badgicus Consul for Life of This Land... hmmm... a guy could get used to a title like that... although I wonder if it'll all fit on a standard size business card... and imagine what my oficial seal will look like? It'll be the size of a Hoola-Hoop to fit all that...

But that's okay, I don't mind at all--we'll just use "Grand Poobah" for shorthand.

GUNHAND

Well there are South Seas islanders that show their wealth by having carved stone coins set up outside their huts. Big things, you can tell a really rich guy if his breaks 3' in diameter, if you find a guy with one around 5' then that's the guy who's daughter you want to ask to marry.

So you could have a very large and shiny great seal, just leave it out in front of your house so everyone can see it and be in awe of the majesty that is El Jefé.
