I don't know if this has been discussed before , but I was wondering as I was watching Firefly the other day..if Fox had advertised The Blue Sun Corportion and the whole conspircy with River..you know had of focused more on that in the previews and the promotion for the show...it could have really hooked in the audience they wanted...like the X flies...

as we all know FireFly is and was a great show, but unfortantly alot of people who would have loved the show never got to see it because of the way that Fox promoted it

I'm convinced their is a huge audience out there that would have loved the show and never got to see it because of Fox shortsightedness

That would have made some pretty good advertising actually, kind of as if we were watching an advert or a Blue Sun product and they realising its something totally different.

Personally, however they'd have done it, if Fox had just advertised and promoted Firefly a little more it would have done much better and of course if they hadn't screwed around with the beginning (but I'm beginning to retread old territory here ;))

I'm of the strong belief that if they'd have just let it run a full season it would have been doing well enough to warrant a season two and by the time season one was on dvd and season two was on its place for several future seasons would have been secured. I mean look at how popular it is now after its finished?? If all the people who had only seen it on dvd (like me) had seen it on dvd then been able to tune into season two it would have been a ratings hit :D

it makes me wonder if Fox wanted the show to fail, it sure does seem so by the way that they advertised it..was it to expensive for them...I was leary and I truly hate tuning in because I know no matter how good a show is its likely to be cancelled..from day one I feared for FireFly if it had been on any other network I would not have felt that way..its funny that you bring it up..I tuned into firefly from its 1rst airdate and I was confused..because I thought I had missed the premire..I thought at the time that it had been shown at some earlier date or that I had come in while it had already started it wasn't until I got the DVD that I learned that they showed the 1rst show Sernity out of sequence..I knew at the time when they showed the Train job that that couldn't be the Premiere show

I'm sure your right..wow!! so you didn't actually see FireFly until it was on dvd...

I refuse to believe that this is it for FireFly, the series I know they are making a Movie..but I still have hope that some other network will buy the rights and let josh make it as a series..I really really hope that happens their is just so much left to tell

Yeah what I think would be ideal would be to have the movie do so well that a further TV series would be commissioned (I know this probably won't happen though because movies make more money than TV dammit) and then Firefly can run for at least seven seasons and have a movie at the end of every season!
