Okay.. my friends and I have been playing around w/ this idea for a month or so. We've had the idea of going to the opening of Serenity dressed as browncoats (not original we know)And we were hoping more people would join us. SO, we also had the idea of calling a local news channel.. or maybe radio and telling them 'Hey, if it's a slow news day.. there's 50-60 people outside the Cinema in [place name] dressed up to celebrate the opening of this movie.
Now I thought this would be interesting because a) it's mainly star wars/trek fans that dress up.
b) additional free publicity for Joss.

do I have a yea or nay vote.. and considering this would be Bristol/Bath UK would anyone come join us?

shw.

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

That is a great idea. I think the free publicity for the movie would be good, not to mention it would get people interested in what would inspire such devotion.

.. and a further idea strikes me...
This would be EVEN BETTER if groups of Browncoats around the 'verse did this on opening day.. and tells THEIR local news.
-also, i know a guy who works for the UK magazine SFX.. how cheeky would I be asking their staff to join us and cover the event?

That might fly. IIRC, Future Publishing is based in Bath, plus SFX can be Joss-friendly, so there's a good chance.

I like the idea, but then, I like the idea of going on a cruise as a group ( gets cheaper that way ) and doing Shindig dress for the formal night and taking over the ballroom. ( let the video creew know in advance so they can get footage added to the ship video )

The Journey is the worthier part.
