list of most anticipated films of 2005
right now 'Serenity' is number 8
but we can get it higher than that!

What are you most anticipating for next year?!?!
me:
1. Serenity
2. Hitchhiker's Guide
3. Harry Potter 4
but beyond that I don't really care....

oops...vote here:

if you delete cookies you can vote again...

and please do vote 'one' interest on some of the lame movies above 'Serenity'
(you can't vote zero)
that will help our BDM rise to the top!

there are not that many votes on the board...
we can make it #1 if we try!

Don't vote multiple times. Artificially inflated results are worth less to us than bad results.

SERENITY - 9.6/10 (428 votes)
EDIT: 9.6/10 (451 votes)

(In order from first to seventh place)

BATMAN BEGINS - 9.6/10 (481 votes)
CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY - 8.7/10 (157 votes)
WAR OF THE WORLDS - 9.8/10 (33 votes)
STAR WARS: EPISODE III - 9.4/10 (469 votes)
MR. AND MRS. SMITH - 8.6/10 (94 votes)
CONSTANTINE - 8.3/10 (82 votes)
SIN CITY - 9.3/10 (202 votes)

I think that we have succesfully smoked the competition, they just haven't updated the page yet. FireFlyFans are awesome.

anyone else notice that we can't vote on War of the Worlds?
with only 33 votes we can't lower it's 9.8/10 rating
which is kind of annoying to me...

But they are the only one beating us:
War of the Worlds 9.8
Serenity 9.6
Star Trek III 9.1
Batman 9.1
HP 4 - 9
King Kong 8.9
Narnia 8.8
Fantastic 4 8.8
Sin City 8.8

I went ahead and wrote and complained about the War of the Worlds thing...because I really wanted to vote about how much I am NOT anticipating it!

the question is: are you anticipating War of the Worlds?
is it marked on your calendar?
do you plan to go early with friends and stand in line?
I mean, how many movies do you really look forward to?

not that many, I'm guessing....
I just want the site owner to understand that
Serenity IS anticipated!

Of course I want Serenity to get recognized and being at the top of the list might help a bit but what some of you folks are doing is overkill that might actually do the opposite of what we want. It's one thing to rally all browncoats to vote to boost Serenity's position but it's quite another to selfishly throw the whole list out of whack. Serenity currently has 1500+ votes and all the other movies (many of which have a larger following) have only about 500 votes on average plus all the other movies on the list have had drastic ratings drops in less than a days time. It'll stick out like a sore thumb and it'll reflect badly on our fanbase.

Mal: This is why we lost, you know: superior numbers.
Zoe: Thanks for the reenactment, sir.

Wait. You mean we're the ones with superior numbers? Oh. Never mind .

Okay. I couldn't quite conscience giving a one to any of the top 20. So if I didn't care about the movie I didn't vote and if I was looking forward to it I gave it a 7. All except Serenity, of course. Bit of a shame I couldn't go higher than 10 on that one...

There are three kinds of people: fighters, lovers, and screamers.

okay, it is possible that I'm completely insane
(likely even)
but I look at it this way:
they have this site online so they can see what people online are excited about
so what are you excited about?

personally I'm never going to see the new ST in the theaters
(so I would vote zero if I could)
in fact a lot of movies on that list I don't plan to pay to go see...

there are a handful that I want to see, but I haven't written the opening date on my calendar
and I'm not rushing out the first day to stand in line...
(so I figure that is a 1-4 type anticipation...JMPO)

But Serenity?
On my calendar
I plan to drag friends down to line up
AND I'm going to a convention in London!

So pretty much, that needs to be reflected
reflected by over-the-top voting...

so see? from my POV the numbers make perfect sense

edited to add:
another place to vote is here (you only rate your excitement for 'Serenity')

I gave Serenity a 10.
If I'd rather have my eyeballs rinsed in acid than see a movie (i.e., Batman Begins, Dukes of Hazzard, *vomit* The Ring 2 or King Kong), I gave it a 1. Too bad it won't take a 0 for some of those.

When you click on the movies, it seems like Serenity has the highest rating (9.2 with more than 1900 votes) but why is it still 8th on the main page? Do the votes not affect the ranking at all? If so, why vote?

EDIT: After reading more carefully, it seems like they will update the list every month or so...

You mean SW, right? I'm not aware of any new ST movies in the near future.
