I'm sure this has been done to death before; but what the hell.

For me it has to be "Our Mrs. Reynolds" in first place. I just loved Inara's acting when she was trying to cover for her kiss; and of course, Mal smuggly believing he has her all sussed.

I also loved "Objects in Space". Early was seriously menacing, don't you think? Very well written character. Does that sound right to you?

Yeah...some very funny dialogue in Our Miss Reynolds. Love that one.

For me its Out of Gas. For some reason I can watch that over and over and not get sick of it. I love the music and tone at the begining and the touching ending gets me everytime.

Objects in Space..also awesome. The misunderstanding between Jubal and Simon.."are you alliance?"..."am I a lion?"

"..it is my very favorite gun."

Yeah, have to agree with you on that one, Gorram, love the feel of that episode.

I have to say that in War Stories, I didn't like the way Kaylee was introduced. Didn't think it fitted with her character. She strikes me as a romantic and the bonking in the engine room with the space "dude" felt a bit seedy.

May none of your pizzas have unfortunte toppings.

Mine would be "Our Mrs. Reynolds." There was so many funny lines and then the "Ta wabba who?" moment with the goodnight kiss. I just wasn't expecting that. I love to be surprised!

Second, "Jaynestown." Again, very funny and a great end as Mal explains why they built the statue and why a guy took a bullet for Jayne.

I mean they're all great, what can I say, some are just greater than great!

ALIENZOOKEEPER

Mal walking away from those lips gets me, every time.

I mean- walking... away... from those lips!

Hi-lariuos!

The goodbye scene at the end of The Message.

Mal lifting Inara's chin and *looking* at her cut lips. I think Early had better stay dead, for his own good, y'know?

Zoe and Wash cuddled up by the fire, during the celebration at the beginning of Our Mrs. Reynolds.
(Especially that one- I made it my desktop 8-)

Vince the alien Zookeeper

CALIGARI

All in all, this feels like a two-part question; when where you aware this was a nifty-keen teevee show, and when where you aware this was the beginning of something _artistic_. I preface this by saying that I saw the eps in intended order, as in DVD, as in _not_ Fucks, er, Fox broadcast order, so my judgement is colored. Suffice to say, when Mal shoots the horse in the first ep was a good indicator that nifty things were afoot. But I _have_ seen a few Buffy eps, so I knew that "out-of-the-ordinary" things were jam to Joss's bread. _Out of Gas_ was nigh-pure brilliance. That was when I put in the Google search for Firefly boards, and found FFF.

So, here I am....

PS: Although I agree with Angusthermopyle, boinking in the engine room was disturbing. It's like Star Trek's Scotty caught with Japanese hentai porn stashed in Engineering; sure, we _understand_ the urge, we just don't _approve_ of the location....
