Out of all the actors & actreses staring in `Serenity`, who`s gonna really make it big time with Hollywood and get lead roles in movies after `Serenity`?

Obviously Alan Tudyk has a bit of a head start with the I,Robot film even if he didn`t appear as exactly as himself (well apart from the special features on the DVD )

And then of course there are plenty of movies that haven`t made it to the big screen or for the cast to have lead roles in.

So what are peoples thoughts on this and why?

I think Nathan's career is going to explode for several reasons.

1. He's the leading male. It's a subconscious thing.

2. SERENITY is going to give him the opportunity to display great versatility. People will see that he's capable of pulling off 'action' stuff while at the same time, his range and depth will be evident in all of Mal's bitter angst. He can be as tough as . . .I dunno. . .Bruce Willis, but be alot more believable in 'heart' roles and not look as overly-pretty as Tom Cruise.

I've other thoughts, but that would be rambling.

I agree that Nathan will likely be handed scripts left and right.

I'm also betting Summer hits it big--she's featured heavily in the story. Gina finally will be recognized as more than just that one guy's wife. Adam, Alan, and Jewel will continue as they have for years. I hate to say it, I love Adam I really do, but I just don't see them being the actors the crowds remember when they leave the theater. I have no idea about Morena, Sean, and Ron.

So I'm going with Nathan and Summer.

A lot of the preview talk has been about Nathan and him being a "new" Han Solo so that would probably mean he'll make it big (to some degree or other). Alan will probably carry on with the same success rate that he already has. I don't think the others will lack for work really although I don't actually believe the movie will caterpault Summer into the big time. She doesn't fit into any easy Hollywood category.

Of course, she could just as easily replace Maggie Gyllenhall as the new Indie movie queen.

POTEMKINVILLAGER

Add me on to the Nathan Fillion bandwagon.

With qualifcation(s).

Fillion clearly has the most range of the FF/Serenity actors. Charm, wit, hunky good looks, inner turmoil, etc. Harry Ford's a good comparison, though Fillion, in hindsight, seems more believable as an everyman with bravado.

Fillion's time for a big breakthrough is now. Though it seems to me that he's co-opted that to a significant degree by signing a multi-year development contract with NBC. Assuming I have my facts right on that score, Fillion's choice to take the steady paycheque -- and who can blame him? -- leaves him beholden to the small screen until he's about forty years old. This doesn't seem to bode well for Hollywood superstardom. Might make for a fine acting career, which I hope it does, but not as an "A-list" stud.

Summer Glau. Tough call. A world of potential there. If she gets a boob-job, I'll stop caring. She's amazing as is.

As for the rest of the FF cast, I think they're just terrific for those specific parts. Kudos to JW, et. al., for spot-on casting. Damned if I know what's in store for them. Gina Torres seems typecast, but I love the mold.

Done run oughta steam.

REGINAROADIE

Nathan: Yeah, he'll definitly become like the next Harrison Ford or the next Kurt Russell. Captains of ships on sci-fi shows tend to have the longest careers (Ford, Shatner, Stewart), so I expect that he'd have the biggest breakout, as well as the biggest sustainability.

Sean: If Nathan is going to be the next Han Solo, then Sean's probably going to have the same career as Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill. I imagine he'll have some second lead parts, and then go from live action to voice over work. Who knows, maybe he'll become the new Joker.

Gina: She already has sort of a career as the bad-ass amazon woman on most action tv shows. But due to this, I imagine she'll be like her husband, Larry Fishburne. She'll still play badasses, but she'll probably balance them out with more serious, thespian like roles. For some reason, I imagine her in the lead of a biopic on a singer. I just think Gina has a set of pipes on her that's been underutilized.

Jewel: I think she's going to stick with tv. I don't see her becoming the next Julia Roberts or Reese Witherspoon (which I don't think people want anyways), but I see an even more successful tv career for her. Maybe the lead in a sitcom, or a new cast member on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

Morena: I'm sorry to say this, but I think she's going to become like a new Nichelle Nichols or Gillian Anderson. She'll be typecast as the female sci-fi eye candy, and probably end up making most of her income from sci-fi conventions. I know shes a Juliard trained actress, but I honestly can't see a long lasting career for her. Maybe a bit as a future houseguest on THE SURREAL LIFE or as someone on a celebrity edition of a reality show *shudder*

Adam: He's had pretty much the same career as Gina, and I can see him on the same level as before, but now with a higher sense of recognition. Maybe he'd become like the next Bruce Campbell.

Alan: I see him becoming like a new Paul Giamatti. The guy whose recognizable in the supporting roles in the big blockbusters, but is the lead in some really good indie comedies that end up on a lot of ten best lists.

Summer: I'm not sure about Summer. She's a relative newbie, so there's not much to go on other than the show to gauge whether she's a blip or in for the long haul. But I think she might make it close to say a Natalie Portman career.

Ron: Ron has been around longer than all of them put together, and he's the most seasoned veteran. I think this'll be his comeback and his swan song. He'll be back in the spotlight, with people seeing SERENITY as a complement to Barney Miller and a long, dignified career, and then I'm sure he'd die right afterwards, ending his career on a high note. Same thing that happened to Nancy Marchand off of THE SOPRANOS.

Of course, I could be totally off and wrong about my predictions, but that's how I'm calling them. Of course, Chiwel Eijofher and Shoreh Aghdashloo already have established careers with real integrity to their names, so SERENITY and both of them will be boosted with their association. Who do you think Aghdashloo will be in the BDM? I keep thinking that she's Inara's mother or a high ranking Companion. Who do you think she'll be?

MALLORY

I really hope Jewel is never on Desperate House Wives.

I also hope (and highly doubt) that Morena would be on the Surreal Life or any other reality show.

My votes going to Nathan, and then Summer for the same reasons as listed in all of the other posts.
