Ok, I am so happy for those of you who got Joss's message quickly enough to buy tickets for the ten-city preview showings. But O, the cruelty! for those of us not able to be online and act so promptly! I guess I should just stop studying for the bar, and ignore the nine rescue kittens I'm fostering, and sit by my keyboard waiting. . . .

Surely, if demand for this movie is high enough that ten advance screenings sell out in a matter of hours, Universal should schedule more such things! That way we can continue to build word-of-mouth for the general release on Sept. 30th! So, anyone up for an email campaign to Universal to ask them to schedule more of these? It's not like we won't go on Sept. 30th too, right?

"Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle. . . ."

Okay this is going to sound positively horrible but I don't want a whole mess of screenings before the movie. Anyone can get into them and by the time the BDM comes out? Well... people might be like 'oh, I saw the screening, meh'.

Sometimes too much isn't good.

It would certainly be nice to have at least one UK screening - I think I'm right in saying that all the others over here (2 or 3 of them) have only been for people who have tickets to the Heathrow convention. And I don't

Hey, you are talking FIREFLY FANS! We are going to be front and center all opening weekend regardless of seeing a screening. We know we've got to make that weekend count!

More screenings.....New York City please!

I'll second that request for an NYC screening and raise you an "Oh god, pleeeeeeease" semi-pathetic down on my knees plea.

I think you have a point but I bet 99.5% of the people who have gone to these prescreenings will be lined up again on 30 Sept.

My only concern would be about what counts towards the box office reports. If these prescreenings count towards first weekend receipts, then let's have lots more.

If they don't count towards that, then just one more in Orlando.

"Appears they've canceled the show and we're still here. What does that make us?"
"Big damn junkies, Sir!"
"Ain't we just."

My only fear is the internet release. The more screenings there are the more chance there is for the movie to get recorded and leaked. If that happens, who knows how it might effect box office sales. Especially a leak this far ahead of the actual release. So everyone look around if you get into a screening. If you see and fishy activity you report the heck out of it.

I'm really not worried about the sneak preview affecting the box office sales, etc. of the movie. I agree that 99.5 percent of the people going to the sneak are dedicated Firefly Fans (why else would it all have sold out so quickly?) And, as a dedicated Firefly fan, I know that I have at least 3 viewings set up already for when it comes out in September. One just for myself and my daughter, and two with different groups of friends who won't watch the dvd's but have promised to go to the movie with us. So I say, BRING ON THE SNEAKS!!!!

And by the way, has anyone ever heard of anything like this happening before? I mean a studio releasing an unfinished movie like this this far in advance in this many cities(hopefully more)?
