Quote:Originally posted by Jadehand: Comments on the nice boys Vs. getting hints: I can only speak for myself, I made a few embarassing mistakes in my past, misinterpreting ladies who were just being nice as giving signals. So now, if you're giving signals, I'll likely just assume you're only being friendly/ polite. You pretty much gotta hit me over the head, and drag me back to the cave. I won't mind waking up chained to the wall.

Quote:Originally posted by mal4prez: My toenail painting thought came from this: in my one good long term relationship, we vacationed in Jamaica and did things like sit on the beach drinking rum and playing with nail polish. I don't think all men would be open to this and I just find that perplexing. It was hella sexy.
Quote:Originally posted by ScorpionRegent: Have a care woman! Love is probably the only thing worth fighting for. So it stands to reason it would be worth questing for. However it is true that fate has ironic sense of humor. It's a cliche that the moment a person stops searching for their lover and concentrates on just enjoying their life that will be the moment that they find someone. This is somehow related to that clingyness element that was getting batted around the other thread. "Desparate" people are so less than desirable because they have that psychic aura that tells you that they will be clingy if they can only find someone. "Desparate" and clingy people are insecure and expect the person they find to solve all their problemas and make their world a paradise. Can you say "codependant" children? I knew you could. No wonder no one wants them. No one wants to get into a interpersonal relationship with a blackhole.

If he's not interested, he'll flinch away (try a couple of times to be sure though). If he is... well, keeping touching his arm till he asks you out.

I must have gone through hundreds of men (and dollars), finally whittled it down to one guy that I thought was absolutely fantastic. After months of emailing and talking on the phone, we met, had a amazing date (he even brought me a dozen roses) and then he NEVER CALLED ME AGAIN. The biggest waste of time and money. Plus it REALLY REALLY hurt.

I joined a group that had a former member In a fairly high position, and he had a grudge against the whole group. Though I joined after, we still had to deal with it. I mostly ignored the politics and hung out with the drinking/dancing/sk'dipping in the lake gypies. They were much more fun anyways. It's where I learned how to prove I was a Pirate by spelling AIR. Up until a few days ago I would have argued this age old point with you until I expired from lack of oxygen. As far as I was concerned it was far better to have never loved at all...only now am I starting to reconsider that. I've somehow managed to fit months of healing into a day or two. I won't question it (against my nature) but just accept it instead. Now, to keep it from slipping away in short order as it usually does. Wish me luck ;D Good post, cozen. You definitely nailed many of the things I've let get the better of me. --- inch towards daylight
