Hello Chrisisall:

You see it is working already. Your fellow Browncoats are filling your head with all sorts of silly nonsense until you get your DVD's back.

I just got done watching the 1935 verion of "The 39 Steps" with Robert Donet. It reminds me of a film he made with Bob Cummings called "Sabotuer". I think Alfred Hitchcock's earlier films were his best. Alfred liked the poor stooge falsely accused theme. It always worked for him.

At the risk of feeding Trolls, I'll state that you sir, should be fed to yourself to answer the question.

BTW, the accusation actually offended me so thanks for immediately dismissing my off colour humour as trolling.

Ummm, I believe that was Richard Boone, the man responsible for CBS' love affair with Hawai'i!

Quote:

After cancellation of his weekly show, Boone and his family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. While living on Oahu, Boone helped persuade Leonard Freeman to film Hawaii Five-O exclusively in Hawaii. Prior to that, Freeman had planned to do "establishing" location shots in Hawaii, but most production would be done in Southern California. Boone and others convinced Freeman that the islands could offer all necessary support for a major TV series and would provide an authenticity otherwise unobtainable. Freeman, impressed by Boone's love of Hawaii, offered him the role of Steve McGarrett. Boone turned it down, and the role went to Jack Lord, who shared Boone's enthusiasm, which Freeman considered vital.

'Cause after Hawaii Five-O was Magnum, P.I.

And now Lost films in Hawaii doesn't it?

Thursday nights were a do not miss Magnum P.I. night. I had a HUGE crush on Thomas Magnum and still love anything Tom Selleck does.

Also, Higgins was Robin Masters. No doubt about it in my mind.

Except that's ABC.
For a long while, it seemed CBS had it set in stone that at least one show of theirs had to originate from Hawaii (I guess to continue the Hawaii Five-O legacy).
Tried to find some'n to that effect online, but nothing so far.

BRIGLAD

Just loaned my set to my boss. I do have a loaner copy of the BDM (I don't loan out the special edition DVD)

As for 1979... I was 12

Growing up in rural VT, with only one channel on the TV (CBS) my TV viewing a was a bit limited. But the local station had other shows on in the afternoon like the Six Million Dollar Man and others in syndication.

Magnum was a must see. My parents let me stay up late on Mondays to watch MASH too. Heck... we didn't even have a color TV until I was 8.

I was 18 when we got one of those 10 foot analog satellite dishes. Five years later they finally ran cable past my house. Figures

DAMN! I almost forgot Baa Baa Black Sheep Squadron! If you liked things that fly, did you watch Tales of the Gold Monkey? The flying boat in that was AWESOME! Of course Disney cut and pasted the concept for their Tale Spin cartoon... Plus Roddy McDowell was a must when it came to Sci-fi in the 70's. He was in a short lived show... Fantastic journey I think it was called.

It was always bedtime when the really good shows came on like Soap and M.A.S.H.

But there some cool Saturday Morning shows like Ark II, Monster Squad, Space Academy etc.

Like Traveller said, we've distracted you at least for a bit eh Chris?
