Usually I tend to persevere long past normal, but really I seem to have lost the will to do my job. Not sure why, but at this point it feels more like I'm surviving a punishment than working. Oh well. At least it pays ( I'd say pays well but I'm a teacher )

Sorry MsA :\ Is it the job itself, or the atmosphere? Or both?

I can't really speak on this ponder because the only job I've really held for a long time is with the military, and that's a job I can't quit really :P (though I've definitely gotten tired of it, and I'm working to change the only-job-I've-ever-had bit), but to bring up a related ponder:

If you've found your job has gotten old, what kind of career change would you consider?

First day of school, I felt like a zombie all day, couldn't really focus. Pretty sure one of my professors already thinks I'm a weirdo :P *sidles off to bar*

I just heard on the radio yesterday that some survey said 45% of college chicks would sleep with their professor to pass a course. So, the obvious answer is I'd become a professor That is of course until I get fired.

Ah Zeek but then the hordes currently battling to the death for the right to date you would have the unfair competition of ambitious college chicks

To answer your question FLT it's the nature of the job. I am a teacher and I'm not teaching I'm just running interference, dealing with parents, training teachers who , for the most part can't or won't do what they need to, and basically getting calls from 6 am til 9pm most days( even got 7 phone calls and 10 emails while on vacation) with frantic hysterical people wanting me to solve all their problems without them having to do anything.

I want a teaching job... I'm sick of adults.

Never seen it. I've been slowly recording episodes of The Wire. I've heard it's good but since there only seems to be 1 per week I think it's going to take a long time to get even the first season stored up.

:\ *hugs* That's outrageous that they called you on vacation, and at night, especially if it's something that can wait; I'd be tempted to unplug my phone. :( Is there anything you can do in terms of changing your job within the district/system?

Traveler: I've heard of LEXX, don't know what it's about though.

Yup back to school and of course suffering fromthe D*C funk for a lot of us.

Ok everyone fingers crossed I have a shot at a teaching job intown( which would mean no more commuting, a reasonable schedule, a classroom of my own, and happiness)

You'll have to tell me if you like the Wire..I've heard it's good.
Right now we're trying to get through season2 of Sons of Anarchy and Supernatural( yes I realize we're way behind)

Never watched either of them.

I'm just sooooooooo happy that football is back!!! Woohoo! Go Saints tonight!!!

Finally the TV drought it over. Plus I found a much cheaper alternative to NFL Sunday Ticket. Now I just bought some online thing that let's me watch a replay of all the games after the air. I can live with that. yay football
