HAH! *wraps arms around 13s multiple-times reconstructed legs* Don't EVER do that again!

In Pain's bunk, Ertia pulls open her bag, digs up jeans and a t-shirt, and is just stripping off the dress when she hears the door open behind her.

"Heya, babe. How's the wound?" She turns to face him, as she drops the dress to the floor.

"Not so bad. Hurts worse where that bullet hit my armor." He lifts his shirt off and she can see the ugly bruise spreading there. Ertia sighs as she watches it trace over his strong chest.

"Think 13'll be all right? We may have a chance to rescue him during the trial." She says hopefully as she digs out a jar of icy-heat and rubs it gently into Pain's bruise.

"Dunno." He answers honestly, then he takes her shoulder gently, forcing her to meet his gaze, "You all right? He didn't hurt you, did he?"

Ertia shakes her head with a smile, "Nah. I had him completely under my thumb. Well, until the dragging me away to an escape hatch bit..."

You said you were leaving us! How could you leave us? You wouldn't really leave us, would you?
I wasn't mad. You'll know it when I'm mad! Just wanted you to come back!
Is it time for a new thread?

The area around the station and the Britannia was a hazardous mess. Bubbling fuel, drifting radar and communications arrays, some the size of a man, others as big as a house. The mystery ship had distracted the three cruisers, but could not make an escape.

"Well, we seem to be in a bit of a pickle, don't we dear?", says the pilot. The co-pilot responds, "Won't be long before they find out Serenity didn't do all this damage. Serenity's gone, now we have to get you outta here. Let's power down first, except essentials and thrusters."

Both pilots deactivate all unnecessary systems, including weapons. "Mac, Laci, stay put, we must do some silent running. We're going try to, you might say, hitch a ride," says the pilot. Hiding under one of the station's massive support beams, the mystery ship is quite invisible.

Pilot: "Let's try to mask ourselves with one of the arrays or even a cloud of fuel."

Chunks of metal drift past at different speeds, including one of the Alliance cruisers, not more than 500 meters away. "Oh, that was too close. Wait, look....," the pilot says. Drifting about 100 meters away, a large dish is slowly spinning out of the station's perimeter. The co-pilot says, "C'mon, honey, that's our ticket outta here." The pilot responds, "Oh, did you just call me 'honey?'", and she looks at the copilot and winks at him.

The mystery ship drops from underneath the beam, and into the path of the incoming array. "Oh my, it's not in a simple spin, it's also going end over end," she says. She turns to the co-pilot, "Give me side or port thrusters on my command, please."

Like doing a waltz, the ship matches the spinning and tumbling of the dish, but not without a little mistake or two. CLANG!! The dish bumps into the starboard side, but with no damage. "Oops, my mistake on that one," says the pilot.

Slowly but surely, the ship and array continue their dance thru the black, drifting ever further from the station, until a few kilometers out, the mystery ship uncouples from the dish.

Everyone dies alone.
