I gave up caffeine at the same time that Mav gave up cigs.

The upside is that although I felt crappy at first, I now feel much better. I sleep better.

The downside is I've received no sympathy at all from this group. C'mon people! No more coffee or diet Dew for me anymore. I used to live on the stuff. I want to hear someone pity me besides just myself. *wallows in self-pity* *sniff*

Going off of caffeine is no easy task man. I didn't realize that it was recent, I thought you had been done for a while. When/if I ever stop having it (not likely anytime soon), I know it will be hard. Hell, half the time I can't even feel it, with some of the other stuff I have done in life.

Kudos to you, Fly, for making such a difficult step. I don't know what I would do without Code Red.

I do believe I've already told you that you'd receive no pity from me.
Just friendship.

Oh, ok. Just this once.

"Oh, Poor, Poor FlyVote!"

and

"The Decaffinated Horror!"

but the upside to that is what the girls say behind your back...

"Hey check out the lack of caffeine on that guy!"

I didn't take the "caffeine as a drug" argument very seriously until recently. Then I began to wonder how this stuff might be affecting me since it makes up about 70% of my body mass. Missing my morning jolt (not Jolt) from coffee or diet Dew made me a bit cranky. Then I'd get my fix. That was quite an eye opener.

It's definitely a serious one, and loads more dangerous than several different illicit substances.

Can you cite a source? I'd like to know more.
