Well, no pics, but...

Went just for Saturday, the missus and I, and met several shiny Browncoats (I got to hug Sister in person!), which was the main reason we attended, this year. We went ahead and pre-registered for next year already, for all 4 days, so we can spend more time with our friends, next time.

The Shindig last night was awesome shiny! Set up in a whole gorram ballroom at the Sheraton, it was MUCH roomier than the little places they've crammed us 'Coats into, in the past. We got more'n a few folks from the Battlestar Galactica Fleet Party comin' upstairs to join us, too, which made it even better.

If you can swing it, next year, it's an awesome experience. Meeting the folks we'd met online made it a whole, new experience, and next year promises to be even better!

Post-con excitement VUMP!

RAY!! Got back this morning and am basking in post-con tiredness but also realizing what a BLAST was had by all. Wish I could post some photos, but my camera was lost at D*C - I'm still hoping someone turns it in to lost and found so I get it back.
Seeing four of the actors from Firefly was fantastic! The lines to see them were hours and hours long - PLUS the crowd was so large that D*C staff had to move the room into a larger venue! Nathan Fillion said, "I want you all to notice that we're now in the big room." (huge applause and yelling at this point). "Not that not so big stupid room," he finished. They were hilarious.
The 76th got more recognition during the parade this year (at least most seemed to know we were browncoats. I was amazed at the percentage of the D*C crowd who were obvious Firefly fans and even overheard one guy saying, "Gee, Firefly and Serenity are HUGE this year just HUGE!" Heh.
Now to the unpacking, laundry - working on next year. Wish I could have met all of you - but meeting Ray and Mrs. Ray was definitely a major highlight of my trip!

Yeah, Firefly has been very big at Dragon*Con for several years, but it sure does seem like either there's a renewed interest, or... The fandom is GROWING.

We looked for you and WackyNephew at the shindig, Sister, but it was just so HUGE! Also, couldn't get the missus, who is very shy, to get out on the dance floor ("Have you ever been with a wallflower woman?"), so psychotic dictator Shan Yu (of Universal HD, Skiffy and Galactica BS) and I tripped the light enthusiastic for the first dance, makin' happy fools of ourselves, and me not even been drinkin'. The one tossing his hat in the air was me.

Once we get our pics uploaded, I post some of 'em here.

It was mighty shiny, and we're gonna do it again, VUMP!
