Tonight is time for beers!

Look at the bright side. You get to spend time with your family for a few months, and hopefuly collect an unemployment check. You'll find something else. Maybe a better job than your previous one. Good luck.

That's too bad. The company I work for is apparently going to be $9 million in the red by next year. If the company doesn't fold, my job sure as hell will be eliminated. Scary times.

It has been very nice having NV home, but I wish his evil boss's boss hadn't used the boss's absence as an excuse to get rid of him just because she doesn't like his family....

Zeek sleepy. CSTS was fun but I was in that movie theater from 10:30am to 8:30pm. Even though all I did was stand around it still wore me out. At least we were up to $12,000 earned by the time I left and we still had the 10:00 showing to go. Surely with that kind of money equal rights and illiteracy will be taken care of for good, right?

HA. no. that's not my mom. this is the woman who will go out and buy baby books, christening gowns, and baby clothes "for when my grandbabies get here." she bought the crib for the same reason XD

ive lost count of how many baby/children's books she's bought to date.

oooooh that leads to a good ponderable. What's the pushiest thing your parent(s) have ever done to get you to do something they wanted???
My mom set up a job interview with a school district before I had even considered going into special ed.... but I'm actually glad she did ( one of the few manipulative things she's done that worked out well for me and not her)

Hmm.. that's a tough one. Although my rents are kinda bossy and over-bearing, they don't really *make* me do stuff, or even try to influence my opinion too much, so that would be limited to grounding me indefinitely in order to get my grades up..

My Dad absolutely made me play little league baseball. Even though I didn't enjoy it at all. Turns out a part of that was probably because I needed glasses. So, I really had no idea what I was supposed to be noticing that would make a pitch good to swing at.

My Dad was just convinced that if I didn't become good at baseball I would be ostracized when the kids in the neighborhood wanted to have a pick up game of baseball. Never once have I heard about a pick up game of baseball in my entire life to this point. However I did play basketball and touch football with some kids in the neighborhood. Amazing how I survived those things without being in a league at a younger age.

Also just back on Father's day my brother and I did a 3way call to wish my Dad a happy Father's day. At one point my brother mentioned his trip to Sweden coming up this week. My Dad said that I need to take more trips like that. Even my brother was like "but he doesn't like that type of thing". My Dad came back with "He hasn't done it enough to say that". Which just immediately makes me go "fine you want me to lie to you? Sure I was just in Sweden yesterday. It blew. The whole place is full of criminals and disease. Is that better?"

lol, i dont look at it as insensitive, cuz its just the way she is, and everybody loves my mom cuz she's always thinking about other people and not herself, its just she loves babies so much they cloud over everything. she follows every grandbaby comment with "NO PRESSURE!! i'll be happy when they get here but no pressure!!" even though my brother and i are like "right ma, no pressure"

we love her and all, its just we do @_@ every time babies are mentioned. thank god three of my cousins had babies all at once so she can have her fix every once in a while, and our neighbors just had a baby a few months ago so she can say hi (she offered to babysit when the mom was still like, 7 months pregnant ><;;) i think she has an addiction XD

What is it about babies that makes people (mostly women) so crazy? I just don't see it. They can be cute a little bit I guess. Most of the time their just messing up diapers, spitting up and crying. How is any of that fun?

Now kittens I can understand. They're far less messy and have much better motor skills. They have all sorts of energy and they are so curious about everything. How come kitten sitter isn't a job?

Because they're less trouble than babies, and they don't really need to be taken care of- as long as they know where their food, water, and litter box is, they're set!

And yeah, I feel the same way about babies- waaaay much more trouble than they're worth. I'll stick to my little kittens, thank you XD

Oh just 10 or so millenium of evolution. Zeek sweety we're programmed to respond to babies. It's part of how the species perpetuates itself with offspring that require extensive care for years before being viable on their own..plus I mean come on it's a baby!!! Let me put this in terms you can understand. It's like being offered a small, portable laptop with a battery that lasts 6 years without a charge and the best graphics card plus the computing power of a Cray with a free set of every amazing game ever made...

Still doesn't make sense. The laptop would be functional. The babies still aren't.

What's with humans taking so long to develop anyway? I mean plenty of other animals come pop right out and get to walking. Humans take like what a year or two? Our babies are lame.

You say that now... but just wait:) It'll get you too. Logic can't override multiple millenia of instinct ( also I cannot for the life of me figure out how to spell millenium...argh)

LOL oh that's a much better comparison... the baby making instinct is as strong as the ...awww a baby instinct. Does that help. It's an automatic thing not a conscious decision based on rational reasons...

Ouch if babies are to women what sex is to men then you guys got the short end of the stick there. I think I'm happy I don't have the baby desire.

*Zeek pictures girl get together* "I could really go for a good baby right now" *Zeek shudders*

Our part sorta ends at the baby making process. It is the final act a male is afforded in the process. A woman carries that child which changes a woman in ways that she can never return. She is capable of sustaining that child before and after it is born.

Funny, I got to thinking about animals and how many of them have differing child rearing methods.

So a new ponder will follow with the next thread.
