Canstopthesignal only shows the recent UK screenings, Fandango isn't bearing out for me (assuming there is anything to find) and I don't relish the idea of calling every theater within a two hour driving radius.

I had tickets to the June screenings but had to miss it because my husband's surgery got rescheduled at the last minute. I *almost* went, I was very torn.

How are y'all finding these advance screenings?

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I believe this round of screenings are for the press, and along with that Universal has been kind enough to offer invites to active Browncoat groups near the areas the screenings will be held. They are not selling tickets for these, so you won't find mention of them at Fandango or at the box office of the theaters.

Blast!

I'd give my left nut to see the movie early. And that'd be quite a feat, considering I'm a girl.

Well, you're finding out about ONE of the sneak preview screenings right ... NOW!

Hi, Kids! My name is Preston Postle, and I've taken the responsibility of distributing a stack of free passes to a special sneak preview of the movie "Serenity," which will be shown next Wednesday, August 31, at 7:30 pm at the Cleveland Cinemas Shaker Square.

THE SCOOP: I am supposed to get 75 of these naughty monkeys, and each pass admits two people. IF YOU CAN DEFINITELY MAKE IT TO THIS SCREENING, you may request passes from me at the e-mail address serfmonkey@ameritech.net. You must give me a full name with your request so I can check you off at the movie theater. I will keep on fulfilling requests on a first-come, first-serve basis until all the tickets are gone.

THE LOCATION: The screening will take place on Wednesday, August 31, at the Shaker Square Cinemas, 13116 Shaker Square, Cleveland, OH 44120. Make sure to MapQuest directions in advance so you know where you're going!

HOW TO GET YOUR TICKETS: I will send you a confirmation e-mail if I still have passes available and can honor your request. Because time is so short, I will probably have to distribute these outside the theater by checking names off a list. I'll get there as early as I can -- around 5:00 or so. Let's say that I will be a bearded bloke, about 6'3", wearing an Indiana Jones hat and a Blue Sun T-shirt. Probably I will be surrounded by Browncoats! Please note that I will not jeopardize my own viewing of the movie by having to wait for latecomers. If you don't arrive at the theater well before showtime, I WILL dump your ticket on the nearest warm body and bolt for the theater.

DISCLAIMER: The original e-mail which I received from "UP Field Intern (NBC Universal)" FieldIntern@nbcuni.com states "each pass admits two people on a first come first served basis -- admission is not guaranteed." I don't know what this means or what our odds are of being turned away at the door. I'm just a chump who didn't ask for this task of distributing tickets, so please don't hold me responsible in case of hoax, disappointment, or random events in the 'verse.

Yeah, I saw that. It's one of the reasons I felt compelled to ask my question. It doesn't help me though, living in Virginia as I do.

Howdy!

I can tell you that at the theater where I work, our sneaks *usually* have a radio station present. They usually hang up some of their radio station's posters, park a vehicle out front with their call sign all over it, maybe hand some stuff out - that kind of thing. Usually (but not always) the radio station's type of music is somewhat similar to the movie's theme. For instance, the rap stations would promote movies that have a strong "urban" theme. Top 40 stations would promote movies that are aimed at teens. Rock stations would promote horror/thriller movies, etc. You could try calling around some of the local radio stations and asking them if they do this type of thing, and if so, do they know if there are any plans for a Serenity sneak. Then I guess it's up to you to win tickets.

So far, we haven't heard anything about any Serenity sneaks yet. They usually get set up for a week or two before the movie.

Finding them rather exciting and entertaining, to be honest.

(sorry)

DIETCOKE

As co-leader of the NYC Browncoats, I learn about it from Serenity_Leader who e-mails me directly.

The latest screening I was told about from our Universal Rep. at the last press screening.
