i must confess i was somewhat sceptical about firefly

a couple of friends of mine constantly praised it to the rafters, and generally this is a bad sign, because anything they both like is generally unspeakably awful (van helsing anyone)

the DVDs were forced on me and having nothing better to do i watched them........

i have just seen the LAST :disappointed: episode, its 01.15 and im nearly in tears

in my opionion firefly was the best sci-fi show on TV, ever, by a goddamn country parsec

it has everything that is neccesary to be great drama: characters you care about, in a milieux that is intersting, that are in conflict, PLUS great special effects, fantastic music, gorgeous women, the ongoing river story, and a comic psycho killer called jayne

oh and for the record I LOVE KAYLEE!

And I have to agree with Calhoun, Van Helsing was pure guilty pleasure. Movies don;t always have to be the caliber of Firefly/Serenity to enjoy them!

How many times have we heard this story? Someone didn't think they'd like the show, sometimes they even saw a few bits and didn't like it.

Then they start watching the DVD set... and boom. I've seen someone go from as vitriolically against it as possible to being a whole hearted evangelist for Firefly, not to mention that guy who drank a jar of salad dressing.
