Zoic is the company that did the effects for Firefly, I went to their site and saw that they'd put together a little thing of a few of their favorite effects shots from the show:

Don't know if anyone cares, but I thought it was interesting.

Cool, Chris. Good selection from Firefly, and Buffy, too.
I remember the first effect that made me think I could finally accept CGI once and for all, it was the animated map in Train Job. I couldn't believe it!
ZOIC RULES!

Get this - they did the effects for the pilot to a new Lost In Space series... for FOX! Naturally, it never aired.

I saw some of that, is that a NEW new series, or the OLD new series that was canned after the pilot was produced?

Oh, wtf do I care, they'll mess with the ship, and totally re-design the robot, and it'll suck, despite the non-bogus FX.

I thought it was new, but after a little interweb search, I realized it was the one they canned a while ago. I had never even heard of it.

Okay, I thought so.
What I want to see is Global Frequency! (Also canned, but it might get released sometime, I hear it was good)

CYBERSNARK

I'm flipping through the showcase clips, and there's some more Serenity clips in the "Day After Tomorrow" showcase (as well as some Zathura, Spiderman, Van Helsing, and various other things that are not "The Day After Tomorrow" ).

EDIT: The same clip runs in the "Deuce Bigalow 2" showcase.

HELL'S KITTEN

Global Frequency was phenomenal, in spite of being unfinished and poorly transferred (though, I may be heavily biased). Some very naughty people probably still have the torrent floating around out there if you're really interested. Last I heard, it would never be released, but I never listen to the word "never." *snikker*

THANKS! I love the work ZOIC does -- one reason I like watching Battlestar Galactica so much.

I just watched it again two nights ago.
In case anyone doesn't know, there are two collected editions of the comic book out there. If you liked the pilot, they are well worth a read.
