Cynical is good. I can go with cynical.

Your not 50, but cynical trumps age.

Anyway, most everyone here is under 30.

Now I know why no one responds when I mention Buster Crabbe in Flash Gordon.

Their all going, "Buster who"?

I'll be elevnty-one.

Wait, oops, wrong fandom.

I guess that means I'll be 21. No, I hate the whole "almost" and "suchnsuch ana half"

So that makes me 20. And I'm a recruiter. Made about a dozen so far.

Go me.

AgentRusco out.

Lol, when "Buster" comes up I think of Buster Keaton (the master of physical comidy). A bit before my and your time, Traveler. Crabbe was the original Tarzan, though. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, check out both 'Busters'. Fun stuff from a different era.

Hello Shiney people!

I am exactly 39 years, 1 week, 1 day and 7 1/2 hours old... but I still behave like I'm much, much younger... keeps me young that does!

Quite a few Leo's here... aren't there...

Hey Traveler - LOL at Buster Crabbe in Flash Gordon - I've not seen that one but I do recall seeing him as Tarzan...

Born to Fly! I too am an Aussie! That means I have been legally drinking for 21 years now... funny that...

Huge Welcome to both Browncoatgirl and Triggerhappy - glad you de-lurked it's good to meet you both!

Love these types of threads - lets us get a broader picture and a more intimate one at the same time!

Love - Magdalena x x x

P.S. My one convert is 33 and I know others who are 41, 19 & 21 but none of them are on this site... they are just crazy mad keen Firefly fans who can quote every line of ever show!

Hello all
Im 24 years young. Looking at this thread its wonderful to see so many people of varying ages. It just goes to show you cant aim our 'verse' at just one demographic. It reaches everyone and that's testament to how great Firefly really is and how mighty we Browncoats are!

Nope, on a similar thread we had a Browncoat check in who is in their 70's.
Me, just turned 49. I'm new at being 49 and don't know how to do it that well.

When I hear "Buster Crabbe" I think of the Muppet show. Gonzo once did an act with a crab named Buster.

KERMIT (incredulous): "Buster?" The crab's name is --well, of course it is.

Ha! That's the most amazing thing ever. But I disagree, Douglas Adams is never wrong. you just need to find the question is all. Perhaps the question is as simple as this: How old am I? or: How old is CarolJude. After all, that is pretty much what the present question is.

So, carry on as the answer to life, the universe and everything. Or something. At least until you turn 43...

33, but feel older sometimes, lol.

Been dining on SF since before I can remember, and know someone here mentioned Flash. Can remember watching that, and Rocketman, and Harold Lloyd - ok, not all Sci-Fi, but can relate to the age thing sometimes

Remember, it's not how old you are that counts - it's how much SF you've crammed into those years.....lol

Your right Dinalt. Age makes no difference. I'm actually very happy to see how diverse we are. It shows the excellent quality of Firefly. It transcends a lot of boundaries. Not just age.

Rcat. Good to here you mention Buster Keaton. One of the few actors who crossed over from silent film to sound. I lucked out and got his epic silent movie "the General". He was one of greatest comedians of all time. Good call Rcat.

MSG. Have you down for stubborn.

And in honor of this auspicious occasion we dedicate this next song to MSG.

At last, my love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
A last, the skies above are blue
My heart was wraped in clover
The night I looked at you
I found a dream that I can speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill I've never known
You smiled, and then the the spell cast
And here we are in heaven
For you are mine, at last.

Just my way of sending virtual flowers.
And to bump this wonderful thread.
Lets hear from you Browncoats, young and old.

Thanks for starting this one, BigWolf18. I'm 46 and glad to see I'm not the oldest, though it did take awhile to get to the fogey section. I assume that just means we don't move so quick. I think it's great our age span runs from River to Book.

I just love threads like this because so much more comes through beside just the answer to the question. And there's so many points to pick up on! Buster Crabbe rules! [nods to Traveler]

Arcadia and BornToFly, My favorite drinking age story is this: when I turned eighteen they had just lowered the legal age in Michigan not long before. When I turned twenty, they raised it back to 21. So I was legal for two years and suddenly I was not. I was the same person. "That sounds like the Alliance. Unite the planets under one rule. Everyone can be interfered with or ignored. Equally." On the bright side I did get to become legal twice...!

And if you haven't already, check out the Religions/Beliefs of Browncoats thread from this weekend. Only Browncoats could be so diverse and so civil about it. Congrats to all you posters.

Hello fellow brownthingies I mean coats. Well I have some info for you about the thread here if you care to take a listen. I did the numbers ( nope is wasn't calculating Darkflys age)

For those who have responded it breaks down a bit like this:

Age 50+ this thread=6
Age 40-49 numbers=15
Age 30-39 numbers=28
Age 20-29 numbers=28
Age under 20 numbers=23

Now this is just a rough look-through so don't hold me to be exact. There were several " I'll be ? next week" kinda post and a few " I ain't gonna tell ya."

Traveler I do remember Buster Crabb and Flash Gordon. In fact I was in a dollar store some time back and there was a whole stack of dvds of the old Flash Gordon b/w tv series. I bought a few of them. Then there was the Flash Gordon movie a few years back with Queen doing the soundtrack, I won’t say more about that movie.

Johnny Quest ( Wow does that bring me back) Welcome to the boat if you're new. In fact welcome to all the new recruits who have come out of lurking to join this thread. There are plenty of interesting postings on here that I would have loved to caught right after they were put up but my Alliance life was calling so I do have to put on a purple jacket now and then (course I wear my brown one under it). Anyway great thread. Hope theres more.
