SFX – DAY THREE –OR- 2x2 is FLOATING ON AIR WHEN CHRISTINA REMEMBER’S HER NAME!

Woke up LATE this morning! and had to rush around to drive the Hubbster out to Finch station to meet his ride to the wedding. Fortunately, there was parking right there, so I took the subway down to Union and was only 10 minutes or so late for my 9:30 meeting with elizalavelle.

The plan was to go through the big lineup, get our card punched, get our hand stamped on the way out, and line up for Morena’s Q&A, because we’d seen how tiny the Seminar room was, where she would be speaking, and we wanted to be in there.

We sat against the pillar near the door, confusing several Anime pass holders who were lining up for the events in the Seminar room at noon and 1pm. “No, we’re not in line, we’re here for the 2:00 Intimate and Interactive with Morena Baccarin.” *G*

noneofyours and willow_kat showed up next and we told them that the lineup for Juliet Landau had already started, so they went down for that. Several other browncoats came along and we found out that Morena and Christina weren’t going to be signing after the Q&A, so we had our spots in line held for us while we scurried downstairs to get our DVD’s autographed.

The line up was not very long this time (half the browncoats were upstairs in line *G*) Christina recognized me again *GRIN* and asked how I was today. And then she said “Should I make it out to Melanie again?” SQUEEEEEEE!!!! She remembered my NAME! *giggle* I said yes and she signed with little x’s and o’s this time, and then passed my DVD’s to Morena. “For Melanie,” she said, and Morena signed with little x’s and o’s too! *melts*

I told Morena I’d seen her in a pilot she’d done, and she didn’t seem all that happy to learn that, not that she was upset, but she really wanted to know how people had gotten a hold of it. I told her I didn’t know (and I don’t know), but whether or not she believed me *shrug* Then she asked me what I thought of it, and I was so preoccupied with her not being happy about it, I blew my chance and said “I liked it.” when in my head I was saying “I enjoyed your performance, but found that the narration of the dead brother was a bit limiting in terms of the potential for character development later on, with everything always relating back to how everyone’s life was different now that he was gone, but seen through his perspective, instead of seeing how the characters might grow to overcome the tragedy. It just seemed that it might hold things back, and I imagine that, had it been picked up, the voice over would have been the first thing to go.” *SIGH* Oh well *G* So I appeared as a star-struck fan, what can I say, I was *G*.

I asked them for one last picture, to which they said “Of course!” and I posed behind them in my Jayne hat. *G* Then I thanked them for being so gracious and generous all weekend, because they really were, beyond getting paid for their autographs, they were just the sweetest things *happy sigh*

Then I took pictures for elizalavelle and Alex and we headed back up to our lineup. I showed my x’s and o’s around – I was on cloud nine *G* No one else had x’s and o’s! *G* I was very giddy *G*

By this time, the lineup was IMMENSE. There were at least 300 people in line to fit in a room that held 130. Thank God we started the lineup when we did! But, YAY! First in line!!

Moerna and Chrsitina came up, right on time, and had to wait while the anime folks cleared the room. Then they went in and we followed. elizalavelle took the first seat in the front row on the right, so she’d have the aisle while she videoed, and I was right beside her. The room was filled to standing room only pretty much, everywhere except the middle aisle, which had to be kept open for fire regulations of course. Two rows of people sat on the floor in front of us, and they lined the walls and the back of the room, and there were still probably more than 100 people outside who couldn’t get in. It was unreal. They totally underestimated Morena’s appeal.

Unfortunately, Christina didn’t participate in the Q&A, and only sat against the far wall, occasionally chiming in with something. Morena asked that we all hold off on flash photography until the end so that we didn’t blind her right off, and she could see us. She promised she’d give us the chance to take pictures at the end, and said we could blind her then *G* Most people respected her wishes, but at one point this annoying photographer who appeared to be somewhat professional walked right up in Morena’s face and snapped several pictures with flash while Morena was answering some questions.. stupid bitch photographer. She looked like a bitch too. *G*

It was a pretty calm, laid back Q&A. Morena just answered questions. She was funny sometimes, when one person asked her about any ‘chemistry’ she might have with any particular actors, Morena narrowed her eyes and asked “just what is it you’re *really* asking me?” as if she didn’t know *G*

She said no one has contacted her at all about the possibility of a second Serenity movie, though she’d love to do one, and everyone is signed for more, but that time on that contract is running out.

She also said no one has contacted her at all about playing Wonder Woman either, and she’d obviously love to do that too.

She spoke a bit about the mysterious syringe, and verified that it was to kill Reavers if they raped her, but she also said it was a sort of suicide thing… so.. that’s a bit different. But she might have meant more an assassin thing if what Tim Minear has said about it is all true. Otherwise, they’dve been killing off Inara, and I wouldn’t stand for that *G*

Most questions were the usual. I’m downloading elizalavelle’s video of her talk even as I type this, so hopefully I’ll have that soon and can post more, and maybe even give you all a transcript of the talk.

At the end of the talk, Morena posed for pictures, and we called Christina up to pose with her and I got some lovely photos of them. Then Cindy gave them Pocky!!! Apparently they love Pocky! LOL And then they waved goodbye, and it was over, and we all filed out. Morena felt really bad for all the people who hadn’t made it in, but we weren’t able to linger in the room as there was an activity after, and Morena and Christina couldn’t get out until we left so, the end of the adventure had come.

We took one last look around the merchants, then decided it was time to head home. Goodbyes were said, and elizalavelle and I grabbed some Harvey’s at Union Station, then caught the subway. I said goodbye to her at the Bloor line, and continued up to Finch and then drove home and showed my husband my latest autographs and told him all about it.

And that was the end of my lovely SFX weekend adventure meeting Morena and Christina and a whole group of great Browncoats!

As for next year….?? If there’s anyone there to see, I’ll be there!!! :oD

What windstruck said. Heh.
Fine reporting and we wait with bated breath
for photos.

Sure hope someone at Flan2 realizes they
haven't invited Morena, or discovers a
signal has gone missing. Can't imagine
Flan2 not having her there if they can.
