I think I'd just tell it how it is. My mom's told me a million times how much it SUCKED horrible, but just 'cause I know it sucks doesn't mean I'm put off by it :P

I know how you feel about that though. It's hard to give impartial advice when you're in not-so-thrilled a mood ><;;

Weekend was mostly good but the bad pretty much overshadows it all.

The good was the browncoat birthdays. The costumes were funny and they did some good face makeup for anyone who didn't come dressed up. So, I got zombified. I brought this punch recipe http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/special/recipe/famf0900putridpunch/ Let me tell you that 13 oz of kool-aid is a LOT of kool-aid. Those little packets are only .15 oz. You need 87 packets to get to 13oz. I ended up calling my mom from the store to make sure I wrote it down right. We both decided on typo and I just got one packet which seemed to be correct. I think with 13oz of kool-aid it would have been sludge.

The bad is more kitty tests that are worrisome. They did another blood test on last wednesday and her levels were almost double where they should be and that's with her getting fluids every other day. So, they were worried she had an infection back. I finally got a urine sample from her sunday and they ran it and said it's totally clean and no infection at all. Ugh! They want to do an ultrasound now to check for kidney stones ($350 woohoo). Even that doesn't seem to make total sense to me. What I see online is that kidney stones can be a problem after a urinary tract infection which is what they think started the whole thing. The symptoms are pain, blood in the urine and vomiting. She has none of those. That didn't mention anything about high toxin levels in the blood either. So, now I'm back to worrying that she has feline kidney disorder and isn't going to make it much longer.

Cool on the party and yes 13 ounces of kool aide is definitely a typo unless you're making the punch in a 50 gallon drum!

Oh poor little kitten. HUGS I hope she gets better soon. We had a cat with kidney disorder and it got to the point where anything they could give him for the pain would have killed him so we had to put him down. HUGS I am really hoping yours will be ok. Have you tried the special diet yet??

Yep she's already on the special diet. The worst part is that she doesn't show any signs of problems. She eats, drinks, uses the litter and runs and plays like a happy kitty. So, I try to keep my hopes up that this is just something that's temporary.

Could be a virus or something. As long as she's happily playing and such I'd jsut do what you can and not worry too much...

Happily playing a little too much even. A gave her a new mouse toy when I left for the birthday party and last night she decided that it would be a fun idea to bring the toy up onto the bed to play with while I slept. Not that it's a new trick for her, but it's always cute/annoying.

My girls would never do that... though Maggie tries to run interference when we get intimate... at Christmas she had these two toys which were a pig that went "oink, oink, oink" when she squeezed it with her teeth, and a frog that did likewise only on a "ribbit..." setting! Whenever she noticed us getting amourous she would silently enter the room and the first we knew she was there was when we heard the toy, then we'd notice her sitting there looking mournfully at us... she is such a nun! She doesn't condone that kind of thing happening under her roof!

She also has her own facebook page now!

*waves to everyone*

Sorry - I ought to have said "hi!" and that Maggie is a Border Collie cross Lab most likely - she's a mutt! She's really Frank's baby, but she's mine when I stay with him in Boston like recently!

{{{hugs}}} to my li'l sis, MsA!!

I only got the eye poke one time when she was a kitten. Luckily minus claws. A few times when I sleep late on the weekend she'll walk right up on my chest and start pawing at the blankets like she's trying to dig me out from under them. So, cute.

Hair pull? How does that work?

HUGS Meredith...LOL on Maggie I love her disapproving face. Has a very Queen Victoria look to it

Oh my cats would get up and start" playing" with my hair and then get a hold of it and start tugging with teeth to get me to wake up

Ooh good ponder. What's the most annoying thing your pet has ever done tog et your attention??

It's a toss up for me. My cat would, if the door was closed firmly, slide his paws under, hook them on the bottom of the door and shake the door vigorously over and over... Or our dog who find that rooting in anything she can find that's paper and shredding it ( battery boxes, tissue, etc) she'll even steal paper out of garbages to do it

hmmm I'll go with my cat jumping up on my computer monitor and then standing on her hind legs and pawing at the blinds with her front two paws. She made that a habbit when I was trying to get to sleep. I bought an lcd flat screen monitor to put an end to that.

A close second is that she screams bloody murder when I take showers. I haven't found any solution to that. If I let her in the bathroom while I take a shower she still wails. If I lock her out at least it's not so loud to me. I often wonder if people in other apartments think I'm tormenting her or something.

Have you tried letting her get int he actual shower? She might like it. Some cats like water

lol I've never thought of that but I think that would be really crazy. She doesn't like water getting on her normally though. Even if I'm just washing my hands and a drop splashes on her she takes off like a dog is chasing her.

OK ponder If you were asked for opinion/advice and you weren't in a good frame of mind to give it, would you not give the advice?

Several women who've never been pregnant asked all about how great it is ( may I say never ask a woman who is 7 months pregnant if she'd recommend the experience...) I don't want to put them off because it's awesome in so many ways, but right now I just don't feel like being the pregnancy cheerleader

{{{hugs}}} People are so silly sometimes! I probably would smile and say, "I'll let you know when it's all over, I don't want to give you my opinion based on an incomplete experience!"

I love you!

EDIT: coz I just saw the other ponder... Well, MAggie is pretty insistent on the front seat of Frank's Buik being her spot, and when I am in the car with him, she tries to put herself between us, by standing in the back and pushing her front half through the front seats! She also climbs on the seat when I leave the car, and if she's been swimming while we have been walking her, it's really annoying to come back to a wet seat! Frank can't quite understand why I get so cross with a wet bum, and a naughty dog!

LOL Maggie is such a daddy's girl. Our dog Lucky is the same way. She even went as far as to pretend to be terrifed, wormed her way behind me then planted her feet and tried to push me off the sofa so she could sit with NV:) Hmm Maybe you need a waterproof seatcover to put in the car and that way if she's gotten there first you can just pull off the cover and not get a nifty wet spot on the bum

You'd be surprised Zeek... one of ours would get in and sit in the far corner away from the spray I guess it just made him feel better to see what was happening

lolz, that kinda sounds like my brother's dog XD except he just likes being with people, but he's so big (eighty pound pit bull mix, he's a TANK) that his mass just kind of unintentionally pushes the people he's trying to cuddle with out of the way.

I tend to find most cats I have looked after are too aloof and busy being NOT interested in the humans to follow anyone into the shower!

Mind you, getting into my bed was another thing! I forgot about the cat who would climb on the screen door & swing it so it banged until I got up and let her in! That or she would get under the bedroom under the house and meow right under the bed!!

We always thought it was weird but if you left him out during the shower he'd cry and cry until you let him sit in the shower with you... all you had to do was say " shower time" and he'd come running from wherever he was...
