Agreed. Finally the rain has passed. Sucks it is hot and humid, but I will take that over a week plus of rain. At least now I can ride again!

I have some yard work to get done myself, but it will have to wait. Today is my Anniversary so I will be taking the queen of my heart out for dinner tonight.

We got rain here last night. Lots of thunder, but not much else. Still, the rain did break the heat a bit and there is a 40% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Hopefully they hold off until I get home since I rode today.

Sunny and low 80s here. Can't last I know, but I am enjoying it while it does. :)

So, D*C is a no go for me this year. Daughter's surgery and now a truck repair bill have wiped me out. Seems that Fate has decided I get to set out seeing my 76th family two years in a row. *sigh*

Agreed Sister. Two years now I have had to miss out on seeing my 76th Family at D*C. Just don't seem right.

Hopefully now that the wife has some temp work we can save some coin with the intent of making it to Atlanta in 2014.

Welcome Ottoman! While I am not the source for all things 76th; you are most welcome to check out our site and see if it's something you'd be interested in joining. DragonCon in Atlanta is our basic 'home', although some of us have traveled in costume to other 'cons and gatherings. As far as your question about the 'western' front of the Independence war, many of our members have taken the official 'verse map of planets and formulated their own backstories. Take a good look around and you'll see what I mean. Check in with our leaders to learn more about the costumes and 'history' of the 76th...we're a good group of folk who are holding. Hope to see you at some future gatherings.

Otto, you should get approved soon, if not, let me know. I know the guy who runs the show. ;)

We'd love for you to put together a kit and represent the 76th. Marching is optional, not mandatory in any way. We have a half dozen or so in the unit that don't make the parade for various reasons or opt to join another costume group for the parade festivities.

If you decide to represent another part of the Independent forces that is okay too. So long as you're out there representing the 'Verse and spreading the word it's all good in our book.
