In essence, f is ON and 0 is OFF. The first 2 digits are color red, the 3rd and 4th digits are color green, and the last 2 digits are color blue. All f is white, all 0 is Black. If all digit pairs are the same, it's a white of varying brightness.

And please also post something white after your color post - each color example, white between color examples.

This is an example of stacking the colors.

You seem to have interest in colors. I think you are female, and just turned 75.
I am wondering if you have heard of the 4th Primary Color. And if you have comment about it.

Look at all the Pretties.
What do you view as common language terms for those colors?

Which is Sky Blue, Royal Blue? Are Indigo and Blue the same? Are Violet and Purple the same?

When I was in school, probably in art class, teacher said:
Red, blue & yellow are the 3 primary colors.
Green, orange & purple are the secondary colors : each one made from
2 primary colors.
But to make any of them lighter or darker, we need black & white also.
Black, white & all their shades of gray are said to be color-neutral ... maybe color-less.

... oooOO}{OOooo ...

It does look like ffff00 is what is defined as yellow. That is maximum ff for Red and maximo ff for Green, the 2 RGB Palate Colors which combine to make Yellow. Notice if the same equal balance of red and green are used, but the intensity is reduced, we seem to get the color olive.

But notice the defined color for Green - it is not maximum ff for Green. I had conjured 00ff00 would equal the defined Green.

Those are the 3 Primary Colors defined because they cannot be made by mixing any blend of other colors.
Most humans have light receptors in their eyes for 3 frequencies, which we call red, yellow, blue. Other fauna have different frequency receptors, like frequencies lower than red (infrared) which reveal lesser temperatures (of heat).
All colors that most of us see are a mixture of these 3 colors because those are the only colors we can see. People who have at least one of these 3 colors absent or nonfunctioning are known as color-blind.

The RGB Color Palate uses Red, Green, Blue to emulate the colors of our visible spectrum.
These are the 3 colors known as the primary RGB colors.
Secondary colors are when 2 of the primary RGB colors are added in equal measure, or balance.
Red plus Green produces Yellow.
Green plus Blue produces Cyan.
Red plus Blue produces Magenta
A balanced blend of all 3 Primary Colors produces White.
Same for a balanced mix of all 3 Secondary Colors..
Absence of all colors is black.

In the RGB Color schedule used here, each of the colors Red, Green, Blue are assigned intensity between 0 and 255 (ff).

Most primates have 3 color receptors so are trichromats. Most other placental mammals have 2 color receptors, so are dichromats. Birds and marsupials have 4 color receptors, so are tetrachromats.
It was theorized that some humans could have a 4th color receptor, but they could only be female. Once it was proven such a person existed (the frequency of color was already known within the theory), then this person has a 4th Primary Color which cannot be created by the mixing of any other colors, and which the rest of us are blind to.
I believe this color is in the yellow range of frequency, and is the same as a color that bees detect.

Perhaps it would be more clear to say that in the RGB Color palette Yellow is the absence of Blue, and Cyan is the absence of Red, and Magenta is the absence of Green.

Anyhow, researchers had wanted to prove that a human tetrachromats did exist, or at least somebody who could see the 4th color (in the event one or more of their other 3 colors was nonfunctioning). They had a billboard which, using the 4th color, said something like "if you can read this call 1-800-555-1234 to receive $100,000" and they got no response. After something like 5 years they gave up and discontinued the billboard rental.
Something like a month before it was changed, one lady mentioned to her passenger friend that it was a waste of space to have a solid red billboard for the past years. The friend didn't understand, said you mean the one that offers money to call the toll free number?
She had seen it regularly and though it a scam. She drove past it often because she drove around her adult son, her only living blood relative, because he was blind.
She became in demand once she called in, because she could discern colors better than most. Fashion people wanted colors that truly matched. One look at a vehicle and she could see where different batches of paint were used, while it all looked the same to us.
I think she was in her 50s or 60s when she was discovered. Her whole life she thought everybody was insane when they talked about colors, because none if them looked to her like they looked to us.

nice thread

I just wanted to add that the primary yellow-blue-red set are for absorptive colors like paint; while the r-g-b set are for emissive colors like a computer screen.

Looks like those middle 3 fonts only work on computers which have those already, like in Wordpad.

That Baskerville old face also depends upon the computer, it seems. On the computers I use, it does not show up, but on my palm device it does.
Also left in old english text mt in case that shows up somewhere.

Ok, so that only works on some screens. Namely, desktop, but not handheld.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

These are named colors I have found. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why these names are interpreted and others aren't - it's just a matter fo programming, I guess. Other names that aren't specifically coded seem to be interpreted as their ASCI hex code into the color hexcode.

Thanks for those. I see some there which I have not had before. I'll need to work them in.

In my post before yours, do you think 84d0ff looks like the same color as the "white" above and below it?
