Was there ever a definitive answer on what Wash's actual name is? I saw it as Jerry Lee mostly not that long back, but recently it's Hoban that's been coming up most - and that's what he's listed as on IMDb. But seriously, Hoban Washburn? Blah.

Well, Tudyk says it's Hoban Washburn is an interview so I think it's fair to say that that's it. Come on, do you think someone would accept the nickname Wash if they had a decent real name to fall back on?

Of course, it should be listed in full in the movie credits too so we'll have a definitive answer then (there were no credits for the rough cut).

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

The "Jerry Lee" myth has been debunked so many times, both here and on other sites, but apparently there are many people who continue to ignore that. It was a mistake by someone who had transcribed the episode "Our Mrs. Reynolds," when Mal said "Good work, Kaylee," and they thought he said "Jerry Lee."

Ahhh, thank you.

And another thought occurs to me: how about the equally confusing Warren/Washburn situation?
