May I please recommend the movie "The American Astronaut" that came out on DVD last month (Feb. 2005). It is an outer space western (sound familiar?), an independent film by Cory McAbee of The Billy Nayer Show.

While Mr. McAbee's character Samuel Curtis reminds many of Han Solo, he reminds me more of Wolverine in the X-Men movies.

It is a strange, weird, sweet film with characters you won't forget.

I concur; this is my best friend's all-time favorite movie, and one of my favorites as well. It's definitely off the beaten path, but I'm glad it finally came out on DVD.

Worth taking a rental chance. Thanks for the pointer. Let ya know what I think of it, if I can find it soon.

This day keeps getting better and better.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Netflix has it.

I just added it to my queue, but they say there is a very long wait for it, so that means they don't have many copies of it available.

A really weird but entertaining trailer is available at the bottom of the movie's Web page www.americanastronaut.com
