Ruger-I guess you could say Rusty is very in tune with the ship.
We have been meaning to make proper introductions,

Atrus- as have I, the Captain mentioned you went through training together as pilots.
Would that be from the same time as most of the crew aboard came together?

Ruger- Just before most, We are all Bown Coats aboard this ship. Even Rusty.
I see you have also learned to temper your questions, unlike some of our crew.
Captain HeinRick has given you clearance to the BrownCoat.
You may speak plainly among friends while aboard.

Atrus- How can Rusty be upset?

Ruger- We have been upgrading the ship to its original design specs.
Captain HeinRick was a project supervisor for the program when we left Hera,
Most of the ships including this one were being built from replacement parts
since they were arriving before the original prototype Components.
The Alliance inspected and delayed all they could before .........
the FireFLyShipWorks was hit.
that probably speeded up progress more than anything and saved this ship.

Now Rusty what is it in the upgrades that have you working overtime again?

the PEGASUS is making a short flight to 'colony station 1', first, to pick up it's second group of colonists before leaving for AQUILA on the 24th.

she docks safely on colony station 1 with her 'secret' still hidden in her engine.

SPYDER THROWS THE SONIC SENSOR INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE POND.

HE WALKS BACK TO THE BAY WERE HIS SMALL SPIDERCRAFT SHIP IS AND CLIMBS INTO THE PILOT SEAT.
HE DRAWS HIS WEAPON, LOOKS DOWN THE BARREL, THINKS FOR A MOMENT AND PUTS IT DOWN ON THE CONSOLE.

SPYDER REGAINS HIS BEARINGS FROM THE FORCE OF THE EJECTION FROM HIS SHIP.
HE WATCHES HIS CRAFT EXPLODE.
AS HE FLOATS, A POEM CROSSES HIS MIND.

The sun relaxes as it sets
as if to leave the world alright.
When winds die down, again you feel
an eerie calm before the night.

The dusk takes hold and air is cool,
quite different from the hectic day,
but wearied eyes now contemplate
the placid eve now on display.

A gift presented by the lake
to all who wander on its shore,
is slivered sun, a final glimpse,
which now will offer new rapport.

That eerie calm, I've come to know,
is just the chaos letting go.
