Who am I kidding? This list is a joke or a nightmare

Anyone still looking forward to anything this year?... 'cuz last year killed my desire to care.

Other than Avengers, and Deadpool 2 for hubby, I don't see anything.

You're not excited about Eggplant Emoji?!?! Why not?!?!?

The only one I'm really looking forward to is Incredibles 2.
I'll watch the Avengers, but mostly because of all the time I've put into the MCU. I feel like I have to watch it.

That's what they're counting on. Just break the cycle and tune out. How many times are they going to remake the same movies over and over again to snake money out of your wallets?

The answer is until you stop paying them to take it.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Oh, I didn't see that... I thought they had pushed that back to 2019...

It's not going to be about the parents, it's about the kids having their own kids now...so I don't know. I hope there is some in-between filler in there.

With what they did to Cars, I'm still leery.

Where did you get that info about the plot of Incredibles 2?
The Teaser has Jack Jack as still an infant.

And the description of that video has quite different info about it.

"Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible."

You do have a point about Cars, though.

Eh, I still am interested enough in it to throw them some $$, plus my boys still love 'em. Hell, they're still keeping up with Agents of SHIELD. They did hate The Inhumans though. >whew<

Besides, maybe in this one they'll kill everyone!

Yeah, I saw that teaser a couple months ago too, and the article with it said it was mostly going to be about Violet as an adult...That's odd.

Maybe it was an actual piece of fake news

PS I just spent half hour looking for that article and can't find it, but I remember everyone else wondering why they would jump it forward so much and have THAT trailer, asking if it was a flashback kind of thing...
Odd.

Ugh, I just looked up the plot for that.

"When a teenager accidentally cuts off his penis, he and his friends rush to save the appendage before it's too late in this dark comedy."

What kind of person green lit a film like that? You have to think "There can't BE that many people who would watch that for anything less than a drunken dare...????

I don't get it...

...and here's the plot of
This Paper Ballis...wait...
This Paper Mache Ball is Actually Heavy... no, not it....
This Giant Papier-Mache Boulder Is Actually Really Heavy

"Three ordinary guys are thrust into a parallel world of an old Sci-Fi movie. Trapped in a low budget universe they must somehow fight their way home before it is too late"

Is this a missing episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000??

Agents of Shield was one of the last things I had been keeping up, but I just can't even be bothered to go back and even figure out where I had left off. I tuned out of the terrible Luke Cage after the 3rd or 4th episode and didn't even bother with Iron Fist. I can't even bring myself to watch The Punisher, which a year ago I was pretty excited about. The only one I think I might watch if/when it gets a second season is Jessica Jones. I don't know how well that would go though since a large part of what made that first season so good was Killgrave.

I'm not big into movies in general and haven't been for at least a decade. I really enjoy the TV show format and think that is where the real talent is these days. I just can't even bring myself to watch any more of the Marvel stuff, and I was never a fan of anything the CW made in the DC universe.

Heh... maybe they will kill them all off. I always joke with my old man when they cancel a good show that I can't figure out why a completely unrelated nuclear war taking out everybody in the world mid-sentence hasn't been done yet. Would be an epic way to torpedo a good show that wasn't getting the numbers.

The only thing that ever came close to that was The Black Donnelleys and the unexpected shootout that left most of the main characters dead in the last episode when it was cancelled.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

I actually saw Molly's Game and it was a good movie. Jessica Chastain is a really good actress (a protégé of Robin Williams, and who helped her in Julliard College).
I'm also looking forward to the Incredibles (the first film was so much fun).

But, for the most part, not much else excites me. Truthfully, I didn't go over the whole list. Maybe later.

Wow! I totally forgot about that until you posted the link but then I remembered how it ended before it even happened. I just checked IMDB and you're right... there were 2 seasons???? I watched that with my brothers and my old man when we were little kids and I remember being pissed off that there was never a continuation to the "to be continued?".

You know if that was ever released on DVD? I'm going to have to watch that again and see the 2nd season for the first time. :)

The only thing I really remember about the show was when somebody lit up a smoke after being told there was no smoking in the police station and Hammer shot the smoke out of his mouth. The girl said "wow, nice shot!". And Hammer replied something like "Nah... it pulled a little to the right. I was aiming for his head". lol

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Here is Rotten Tomatoes lists of the best of the best and I wouldn't watch 90% of it if you tied me to a chair and taped my eyes open.

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/top-tv/

I've never even heard of 99% of the movies that are on it's current
"Fresh" list. Not that the "fresh" list is indicative of real reviews, anyway.

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/browse/cf-dvd-streaming-all/

How does one even begin to wade through everything that is made these days??? There may be something amazing out there and you'll never even know.

Personally, Wishy, I just let my brother and my Dad tell me what they like. We usually have a really close agreement on what is good and what isn't, so for the rare time I do watch something they recommend and don't enjoy it, there are a lot more hits. I also watch quite a few people on youtube that I've gotten some good ideas from. For instance, I never would have even heard about Welcome to Me, starring Kristen Wigg without youtube, and I though I don't know exactly if I even liked it all that much it was a completely unique experience, it made me think about it still days after I saw it, and it's not the same old schlock that Hollywood pumps out.

I know that you and I don't see eye to eye on much, but I do have a few recommendations for you. You might not agree with me on just how fantastic they are, but I don't see any way you could watch them and not enjoy them.

The first is the movie Ink, from 2009.

The second is the TV show Black Mirror that was originally a 3 episode per season show that nobody knew about from the UK, and Netflix picked up last year and made a phenomonal 7 episode 3rd season. I haven't watched them yet, but they just put out a 4th season in the last month or so.

It's like The Twilight Zone and/or The Outer Limits, but it's especially scary because it deals with technology we either already have or we very likely will have someday soon.

Ink is my all time favorite movie. I wouldn't say that Black Mirror is my all time favorite TV show since there have just been so many great ones in the last decade or so, but it is my favorite current TV show.

I hope you see them someday and dont' let the fact that I recommended them turn you off to it. I'd actually love to hear what you think about them. My only recommendation if you want to see them though is to go into them completely blind. They're just so good that you wouldn't want to ruin the experience with spoilers.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

I'm guessing you missed it, but there was a thread about Black Mirror where half of the people here were saying they've seen it??

...I HAVE seen the new season. Twice. I'm sure a lot of us here have. Yeah, it's good.

And I don't watch movies where you have to "save the kid", "save the wife", but thanks anyway. Anything that plays into the "white knight" delusion makes me nauseous.

Wife was dead before the movie started. Saving the kid was really just happenstance. It was a story about saving one's self.

Maybe if you ever try it someday. It might appeal to you more. At the very least, you could watch it now and maybe learn a thing or two. It's sci-fi heavy, which would probably keep you at least mildly interested until the end.

But no... keep watching your Marvel Hollywood schlock that you claim you hate but keep paying to go see. I heard somewhere that Rotten Tomatoes has a whole list of great suggestions for you to watch in 2018.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

And Gary Werntz is playing a Judge in On The Basis Of Sex.
