I have never seen an ad, trailer, or heard any either for The Last Full Measure.
Several weeks ago, I heard a lackluster review from some idiot hack on radio, who always gives the same recommendation for all films, no matter how bad.

I went to the 1 pm showing on Tuesday. I did not see any empty seats in the theater. When I paid into the assigned seating, I got the last seat in the inclined section. In the parking lot, through the lobby, and in the corridor, I saw several interesting and snappy looking characters - and it turned out they were all going into this showing.
As I left the showing, I noticed that the audience was a bit more mature than average.

The poster outside the theater door was the first one I saw for this film.

The cast.
Sebastian Stan (Captain America)
Diane Ladd
Christopher Plummer
Samuel Jackson
Linus Roache
William Hurt
Peter Fonda (perhaps his last film)
Amy Madigan
Dale Dye (Platoon, Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan)
Robert Pine
John Savage (Dark Angel)
Max Gail (castmate of Ron Glass)
LisaGay Hamilton
Bradley Whitford (Cabin In The Woods)
Ed Harris

Based on a true story. It is about a Posthumous Medal of Honor Award.
This is the best film I have seen in a while, and I had little expectation for it. As long as you understand this is not Alita, this is not James Bond or Star Wars or Frozen, I don't know what more I could ask of a film. Along the lines of American Sniper, and I don't know at this moment which was better. This was not directed by Clint Eastwood, although you might suspect it was. Some flashback scenes were similar to Saving Private Ryan or Forrest Gump.

I recommend this film to those who enjoy films.

Regarding Silver Screen vs. home screen: there was a lot of detail on the scene, not excessive, but more than I think could be apreciated on a smaller screen at home. My suggestion is to see it in cinema.

Codas: there are a series of clips during the end credit roll, similar to Sully. When there is an extended pause, they have ended.

WARNING. I was fair certain that most of the theater was in need of Kleenex before half the film was shown. So bring yourself several hankies.

As I alluded, the audience was not the most ambulatory. They were not fast movers. These folk might see only one film a year - and this one was worth it. So if these folk can make it to the cinema, so can you.

I’ve been wanting to see this since it was announced, but of course it isn’t showing anywhere near me.
Part of the price of living in the sticks, I suppose. Hopefully it’ll have a home release relatively soon.

I had mentioned comparison to American Sniper.

At this point, I feel that American Sniper gave me a more satisfied feeling, and Last Full Measure seems more moving. That is only how I think about it at the moment. I do own American Sniper, and I should watch it again as time allows.

This film is about Posthumous Medal of Honor Award.
This is certainly the sort of film Hollyweird will avoid granting with awards such as Picture, Directing, Script.
But if any supporting roles are nominated for acting, it is possible they may be posthumous as well. Peter Fonda has already passed. I could mention that his portrayal reminded me of my favorite role he was in, Ulee's Gold.

I also forgot to mention, I had peeked into other theaters while they were showing films. They were all deserted. I forgot to look or ask at the ticket booth is LFM was the only Sold Out show.

This has been bothering me.

Why have you not posted this in the thread on Must-See films for 2020?

I could have easily missed this film. I didn't know it was coming, I was not aware of it at all, I didn't know what it was about until I heard a crappy review, I had no idea of the cast. This is exactly the type of film, sometimes under the radar, that I would hope somebody has posted about in threads about upcoming films.
I feel you let me down.

I realized that some of the combat (flashback) scenes reminded me of Blackhawk Down.
