One of the newest from Kevin Costner. An older couple go to North Dakota to rescue their grandson and their former daughter-in-law from the new husband's crazy family.

I downloaded the movie then I disregard the director's intention for his art by jumping to the "final" scene as shown on youtube. The end was sad, which played out after the "final" youtube clip -- straight violence like you'd get from many American movies. Then I jumped to the middle of the movie. Kevin Costner is sizing up a whole room full of smirking scumbags who need to be killed. He doesn't do it in front of his wife and grandchild, but you know it is coming. That's why directors and producers hire Costner, because he is a reliable killer. Only a week ago I saw Costner do the same in The Bodyguard (1992) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103855/ It is Whitney Houston crying over wounded, heroic Costner in the ending of that movie. The director pushes with all his strength the sad emotion button by having Whitney sing "I Will Always Love You".

"The Bodyguard" was never my type of movie. I figured they would push the love angle too heavy and that just turns me off.

I am right now rewatching "Silverado" for the who knows how many time. That is a fun film. Just a good old fashioned western and shoot 'em up. You know who the good guys are and you know who the bad guys are. Kevin Costner and Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn and Danny Glover are the good guys and one of the main bad guys is played Brian Dennehy who makes an excellent bad guy.

Course main scene towards the final of the film is Kevin Kline and Brian Dennehy's characters facing off in a dusty empty street for the classic man on man gunfight. You only see a scene like that in American westerns. Classic to American's ideas of the old West. Any ways you know the good guy wins. I would have to look up the year but I think it came out in around 1990?

I love Kevin Costner and rarely dislike anything he does.
