WISHIMAY

It says it was released two days ago, but I didn't catch that, I guess.

I'd love to know if anyone thinks it's worth ponying up the big buck for or it is a "netflixlist and wait-er".

I'm getting a lot of "tedious" and "unimaginative" which is sad, it looked like fun

Or Hobbits 2- Desolation of Smorg... uh Smaouoag...Smoog??...Smaug???

I saw Desolation of Smaug before Christmas. I'm no purist so I thought it was fun.

They messed up Japan's favourite legend? That's too bad.

I have Hobbit 2 on my must see list, but I've been a bit busy of late, I may catch it tomorrow (Sunday). I will let you know what I think. I saw the first Hobbit and thought it was fairly entertaining. Now I must warn you, I'm not one of those purist (mainly because I haven't read the books. I did that with the first Hunger Games and it was rather distracting, especially comparing the book to the movie). By the way, my interest in this movie increased tenfold when I saw the quite handsome woman Evangeline Lilly as the elf love interest for Orlando Bloom's elf.

Plus, this will satisfy me until March when Game of Thrones returns.

47 Ronin, I'm not to sure about this movie, although it looks good in the commercials, but that almost always shows the best the movie has to offer and oftentimes leaves little else.

I really liked what Tolkein did with his invented characters. Yeah, it's lotr fanfic basically, but it adds deeper facets to the existing characters and makes it more interesting.

Legolas as a cameo kinda went on for a while, but Evangeline Lily's character makes it worthwhile and ties it in with the main story and the Dwarves. I have my own suspicions how that will turn out considering the canon in the books, so we'll have to see how Jackson handles that, but I'm expecting a well executed emotional turn.

I agree that she makes a fine Elf maiden.

Not seen 47 Ronin yet, and will likely wait for Netflix. However, I did hear a radio interview w/ Keanu, and I must say, he kinda impressed me. Maybe I just had seen stuffy TV interviews w/ him before, but he really came off as a far more interesting person than I had thought.

I had a friend who worked on an unrelated film based out of the same offices at Universal, and.... no. The director apparently got in way over his head, spent almost 2 years in editing, got fired off the project several times... and the studio wrote off the entire film on opening day (which has never happened before).

Netflix at best.
