Quote:Originally posted by Humbug: In the official novelisation of the screenplay, it says Jayne comes from a planet called Caliban (a flashback to the day Jayne met Mal & Zoe down the barrel of his gun - from the Out of Gas episode of Firefly). Just get your hands on the novel - you'll find it in there!!

Zero sympathetic characters and a very high body count. You might want to try starting with one of the comedies and work your way to the heavy stuff. Also make sure you have one of the editions with the modern translations on the facing page, it makes it much easier to understand the language in use.
