Ok...to make things fair for all the male Browncoats and (ladies with a Sapphic bent) left out of Companion6's thread on ranking the men of Serenity - http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=4&t=17069 - let's just open up the floor to the following quandry: "In what order would you pursue the ladies of Serenity?"

Personally, I would have say the following is my personal preference:

1. Kaywinnit Lee Frye - Besides her portrayer being a fellow Canuck, something about this little mechancially-savant minx makes my nethers all a twitch. She makes innocence just plan kinky! Plus, the character is probably closest to my current age

2. Companion Inara Serra - Oh mama, how I wish I could be one of her clients! She can give a dinosaur a bone...which is why she's No. 2 on the list. Like Mal, she could entrap me with her wiles but the doubt of whether her affection was 100% true or put would cause an issue or two. Alos, Morena's only 4 years older than I am, so it's not reverse craddle robbing

3. River Tam - A hot little number, I have to admit. Only gets No. 3 (for now) because until the Reaver orgin plot twist, she reminded me too much of my little brother in behavuiour. Plus her psychic abilities would get occasionally frustrating when trying to surprise her or something

4. Zoe Alleyne Washburne - Zoe....oh Zoe. Why must you been married, thereby dumping ya to the bottom of my list!?! Sexy as hell, dangerous as all out and a geek chaser too.....damnit to all Diyu, she'd be my perfect parnter if she hadn't already nabbed Wash

So yeah...there are my picks. Anybody else wanna take up the reigns?

Well, to be fair, IIRC the thread you refer to came about as a response to another thread that was ranking the women-folk :P

So, to bring it all full-circle I'll add my two cents again :)

1)Kaylee. Oh my yes. Could she be more adorable? Oh I could die happy just to follow her around like a puppy and hand her wrenches and stuff when she needed them. Come to think of it, I'm just gonna sit and swoon for a moment...

2)Well, assuming that I can't just put Kaylee down for all four, I'll go with Inara. Just... yeah... Why you say? What part of "I'll be in my bunk" did you not understand? ;p Also Morena's only a couple months older than me so we have that in common, right? ... right?

3)Zoe. Sensual amazonian warrior-woman. 'Nuff said.

4)River. Well, there's the whole crazy thing... which is never as fun as you'd think... But she can kick a guy in the head around a pole, so... I suppose I could learn to live with some "unpredictability." ;p

So there's my two cents. They're all so wonderfully beautiful, though.

I would have to put River at the top of my list.

Yes, she definitely has issues (she is still far from issue free at the end of Serenity), but I'd have to say that the moments where River's true self shows through her tortured shell are some of the most poignant and beautiful parts of Firefly. River's dance is by far my favorite scene in all of Firefly.

Of course she is 17

in the show, but if you consider a more perfect world, one where Firefly was not canceled, River would totally by 20ish by now

Since I think it's perfectly reasonable to have a girl-crush every now and then, let me add my two cents.

1. River: River is a wonderful mix of strong and fragile, not to mention extremely intelligent. Things certainly wouldn't get boring around her.

2. Inara: Besides being drop-dead gorgeous, Inara is confident, elegant, and refined. The type of woman you are constantly in awe of. Of course, the "proper" attitude could get kind of old sometimes.

3. Kaylee: She's as cute as a button and perpetually cheerful, but I think she's more the best friend or sister type than a love interest.

4. Zoe: I love Zoe, I really do, but truth be told, she scares me. Along with everyone else on the ship. Still, there is something to be said for being with a warrior woman, har har.

At last.

i missed this thread first time around...but glad you posted it BEB.

ya know for a while after i first came to this little hidey hole, i really thought everyone here was a chick...no really, all the Mal & Jayne love talk.... and i would almost bet that the majority of browncoats here are sweet, lovely ladies.... and that's fine with me.... i am comfotable with my sexuality...!

So here goes - Zoe is now a widow and i would be the first to offer a shoulder to cry on...of course Zoe would never do that cause she is so mentally tough...which is one reason i would have to go after her first....

Kaylee would be second cause i have a feeling we would hit it off very well out in my workshop.... cars on blocks kinda thing

Inara, with all of her experience and training would be great but maybe a little less than genuine...

River...man, River....i had a girlfriend that River reminds me of (a couple years older though)....that chick was crazy....fun, but crazy....i would have to give that some serious thought...

Then there is Saffron....or Yo-Saf-Bridg.... definately a one night stand.......

i would treat them each with the love and respect they deserve (ok, that was just in case some girly girls are lurking about...but it's true...no, really....)

I would pursue Saff. She would try to kill me but I wouldnt learn and I'd still try to pusue her :). She'd then try to kill me again. So i'd seek comfort with Kaylee, however Kaylee would see I was heartbroke over Saff and push me away. My effections would then turn to Zoe and Zoe would just tell me to 'stop being a weak man' and then smack me around the head with the butt of a shotgun. I would lick my wounds and then confide in Inara. As beautiful as she is she would nurse my wounds, hold me and and make me feel like I am so important. However she would tell me the only man for her is Mal and we could only be friends :)............ahhhh well. I have pictures of Saff .LOL

1. River. She's talented ((Summer was a Prima Ballerina.)) She's an Ass-Kicker, both Physically and Mentally, which would always keep it interesting. She can read you, which would keep you honest. These are the reasons she tops my list. Oh Yeah, and just because she's really very oh so damn gorgeous in my eyes.

2. Kaylee. She's a generally very "Up" person, totally opposite of me most days. Also, extremely good with mechanical stuff, and quite intelligent. Also also, very beautiful.

3. Zoe. She's sincere. She's always got your back. And She is a very fine woman.

4. Inara. Inara can always make you feel better, but you'd never be able to tell if she was truly completely sincere ((Unless you're Mal.)) Also, again, and as oft repeated, she's drop dead Gorgeous.

YoSafBrig doesn't go on my list as I would doubtless end up in the middle of nowhere naked without food, water, my entire life savings, or my gun. That said before her surprising but inevitable betrayal, it would be ecstasy.

If anyone gets nosy...Shoot em.
