Anybody know anything about that cool yellow ship Mal almost bought before he saw the Firefly that he fell in love with?

Want it for my character, Lai Ling Pomocny, (former Alliance officer who occasionaly smuggled non-weapons supplies to the Independents.)

Or even, any of the other ships in that shipyard. (I want to be original, not go for the Firefly class like everybody else - even tho I must admit I like it alot.)

Unfortunately, even if you follow the link, the large picture of the ship isn't there anymore. Not sure if anyone ever did come up with deck plans. But the people involved in that thread might be the logical suspects to contact.

Thanx. Went to the link. Read the posts. Decided I don't want that particular ship, as it doesn't seem big enough for the 10 characters I have in mind to write about, plus cargo plus passengers. Also decided I don't like how it looks. Like a damn bee with it's wings missing, if I remember right (don't have that DVD at the moment). Guess I'll have to look for something else. (Sigh.)

Hmm. Nah, I wanted a transport ship. Maybe like the one the Reavers were flying in "Serenity" - only WITH proper core containment!

Or maybe, the one the people that were attacked by the Reavers was flying in...Bushwacked? Can't remember off the top of my head (not yet at the point with Firefly like I am with Star Trek TOS where I can name the ep by the scene where the crew is transporting to where-ever the ep takes place).

The ship from Bushwhacked probably won't do for you...it was a short range ship that was modified for one push out to the rim by the colonists that bought her. Since your going for a fair sized, longer duty transport you'll need something different.

Always liked the Trans-U myself...Think I'll cgi it once I finish the Star Wars stuff I'm doing tonight....

Ok, I'm going with that Trans-U the Reavers used. Got some good screen captures with my home computer's DVD player, & can see how damaged it is. Will have to do some work to it, I guess. That's ok, I don't mind "buying" a "fixer-upper".

Now to think of a name & start writing stories! (Hmm, Platinum Rose sounds good...)

You're going with the actual ship the Reavers used? Cool; guess you salvaged it after they all died from not having core containment.

Might want to see to that, btw.

There are some shiny exterior "blueprints" in the Blue Sun Room for that ship. I also have a crapload of screen caps. Last night I started work on a cgi version of a Trans U (I like doing 3d stuff). I was going for undamaged, but should be able to rip it apart once I get it together to make it look more like the Reaver's. That is, if you would like me to make some shots for you?

I'm still at an early stage in the process; just a warning...

Actually, by "work" I meant work on the screen caps I've got to get it looking "less damaged". I figured maybe Lai Ling bought her ship about the time Trans U went out of business (or maybe before, if they tried to raise funds by liquidating assets). Anyway, I figure they sold their ships cheap & she bought one. Depending, of course, upon WHEN they went out of business - I figured she bought it during the war. Don't remember if they said how long ago Trans U went under...? Or maybe she had another ship that she sold & used the money to buy the present one.
By the way, thanx for telling me about the blueprints. I was gonna ask. Now, are there any deck plans avail. or should I make some up myself?
