Okay. . .I was browsing through some of the threads, and I saw at the end of something someone had posted the following. . .and it's kind of paraphrased. . .

"Not exactly the St. Crispin's Day speech, is it?"
"We few, we happy few, we band of buggered."

WHO said this. . .is it FROM a TV show or some such, and if so, would you PLEASE tell me how the whole thing goes. . .because it is AMAZINGLY signifigant to my company of attack pilots over here in Afghanistan, and I'll be GLAD to tell the whole story if you ask. . .but I'd REALLY like to hear/read/find the whole exchange.

"Wash. . .we got some local color happening. A grand entrance would not go amiss."

Quote is from BTVS (Buffy) between Giles and Spike

I don't suppose I could appeal to someone to type me up the whole exchange?

I'm afraid that's a job for more knowledgeable fans than I

EDIT:

I think it's from Series 5 Episode 22 "The Gift" if that helps anybody who has the scripts

BLINKER

It's from "The Gift" (the season 5 finale):

BUFFY
[addressing the group] Everybody knows their jobs. Remember: the ritual starts, we all die. And I'll kill anyone who comes near Dawn. [walks out]

SPIKE
Well, not exactly the St. Crispin's Day speech, was it?

GILES
We few, we happy few...

SPIKE
...we band of buggered.

PUMAMANREDUX

entered the phrase "Not exactly the St. Crispin's Day speech, is it?" at imdb.com and it came up as
a possible with Spike in BtVS saying the line "Well, not exactly the St. Crispin's Day speech, was it?"

the qoute list at from BtVS ( at http://imdb.com/title/tt0118276/quotes )
has the relevant item somewhere on it .. not sure if its 100% accurate ...

here goes
--------------------------------------------
[Standing before the gang as they prepare to leave to fight evil hell-goddess Glory]
Buffy: Remember: The ritual starts, we all die; and I'll kill anyone who comes near Dawn.
[turns and leaves the room]
Spike: Well, not exactly the St. Crispin's Day speech, was it?
Giles: [picking up remaining weapons] We few, we happy few...
Spike: ...we band of buggered.

--------------------------------------------------

(darn had a browser prob and couldn't post as quick as I woulda liked .. tempted to delete the info but I won't )

COSMICCONCUBINE

Yeah, I want to know the story too!

I'm presuming you already know the reference of the St. Crispin's Day speech from Shakespeare's "Henry the Fifth", but just in case...

"From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered,
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers."

Take care!

Note this Shakespear quote was also used for the title of the HBO mini-series about WWII ("Band of Borthers"), produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.
