Jonathan Frakes will helm the episode, which will not feature characters or actors from the Thor movie.

Aww. I was hoping to see a reaction from one of them to the fact a Coulson is still running around.

Now I am learning about scary.

So if we don't see the movie, will we have any idea what's happening in that episode? (I will probably see the movie eventually, but not before the episode airs.)

haha no actors from the movie will make it to the show? I wouldn't really call that a crossover any more than other episodes. I mean bits and pieces of the movies have been mentioned throughout the series as it is.

Wait... they already had that episode, didn't they ? The alien helmet and it's weird infection that threatened to off agent Simmons ?

Thing about that scenario, is there were 1000's of aliens, all wearing this stuff. Why would only ONE cause all that problem, and not others ? Ya gotta think there are alien body parts and gear all over NYC. I find it weird that they'd have an issue with only one piece found...

No, the alien helmet as from the battle of New York in The Avengers. Its this weel (in an episode directed by Jonathan Frakes) that thew deal with some sort of aftermath from Dark World.

As for the one alien helmet causing all the problems - remember, it was a diseas that particular alien had. I believe the assumption was that he just had what was a rare condition amongst his kind.

Let's start with the good. I didn't think that episode had anything spoilery about the Thor movie. That's good because I'm not always going to watch every Marvel movie right away and I don't want to have to skip episodes of SHIELD because I want to keep the movies spoiler free.

Now for the bad. That episode was another bland emotionless thud. Ward is not an interesting character and this episode did nothing to help that. I don't even know what the heck they were trying to get across with his little flashback memory. All I got was "something traumatic happened but they didn't care to explain it". Then they seemed to be setting up the least interesting love triangle imaginable. Oh no will cardboard man choose cardboard girl or whinny girl? I'm starting to lose patience with giving this show the benefit of the doubt.

I rather liked it, and found it to be one of their best yet. I actually did care about Ward this time around, for the first time ever. Sure, his flashback wasn't fully explained in detail (Im assuming they plan to get back to it) but I thought it was pretty obvious what happened and the effect it had on his character.

I was underwhelmed, slightly, at the name dropping Agent Coulson did per Thor. Yeah, I get it... you and he are real buds. What ever. I did like it how the other Asguardian DIDN'T know Thor.

I'm with you. I keep thinking: "Would I be watching this show if it weren't Whedon and the Avengers?"
