OK,

So here's the deal. I am a new fan and a nerd...sorry. I am proud of my nerdliness. As a writer of Fantasy ( No I have nothing out yet ) I find that Firefly is stunning in its reality. My personal experince with the show was reruns about a month ago when I was a bartender in a crap family restaurant. I was watching the pilot and I was laughing at Alan Tudyk's Dinosaur monologue.. When they got to the getaway I noticed 2 things that really truly made my head turn. 1) no sound in space. but not boring. THERE IS NO SOUND IN SPACE?!?!? I guess that is what America thought, right? LoL...yay vacuum. The realistic physics or fire in space and the sound...ah. Nice. Truly. 2) The photography/cinematography/ whatever...like I was taking the damn reel myself with my digital camera on movie mode...truly brilliant. One little thing though.. In other shows they had debris bounce off the cameras. I know that serenity is a gunless ship but I dunno...maybe later there can be a call for such a thing. This show has a certain humanity to it. So I bought the 14 episodes thinking, why am I getting a Sci-Fi channel show ( the original channel I saw it on ). I started watching and was instantly enthralled. Like. The whole situation with the alliance and the independants ( those brown coats are flashy ) is the civil war. The rebels lost again too...poor guys. But I literally just finished watching all of them after like...being attached to my computer screen. But this show actually made me cry in parts...sappy, corny but true. It is so gritty and real..it just touches me in a special place that only Lord of the Rings and Star Wars : Episode III did. I LOVE THIS SHOW. I am trying to recruit my brother to the show and movie but they were all like..oh Joss Whedon...w/e. I'll tell you what, this show is really cool. It has that same quality of realism that Star Wars did which made it "lived in" so that I could literally " see my house from here". I was actually sad that the series ended so prematurely because the humor, the comaraderie is just so there and it's really kool. I will be taking everyone I can to see this movie this weekend and then lightly suggesting that I lend them my copy of it as pirating DVD's is highly illegal and cuts into profits... I so think that this show should continue and that it's reality is so romatic in its own gruff and cheesy way. ( humor reminds me of my mom's ). so I guess this is me letting out that mood of disappointment in the sudden end of something so great...and my imminent explosion of excitement over the movie. I am tired as all heck...night all!
