Does anyone know if the tatoo on Mals/Nathans hip in Trash is real or not? and what it is exactly?

BTW..so my new thing this week is to see how long I can go without watching an episode...managing 2 days at this point....so I can start from the begining and do it all over again! I dont think I can make it a week.

Let someone borrow my Serenity disc and just not having it in the house is making me uncomfortable! (very "new" newbie...addiction still overwelming)

Obviously hanging out with you guys to get my daily fix. (and getting the soundtack and the visual companion.....and..and...)

Oh yeah..and whats up with the firelfly/prospero forum (original fox board?) are you all on that as well? does it have more info/fans etc..do Nathan and Adam/producers really post on that board? Or is this the "official board"

Not sure about the tattoos. There's always the zoom button...

I know what you mean about the DVD set. I've been promising to loan them to people at work for weeks, but I just can't stand the thought of not being able to watch them whenever I want. That first addiction phase was almost painful. Thankfully, doing fanfics and vids really helped. Now (after three months of feverish obsessing) I can almost tolerate a few days without seeing an episode.

From what I've seen, this is by far the biggest, most active Firefly community on the Net. But I don't think it's "official."

well now.. I do NOT know if it is real..but at the Flan.. Nathan said it was (he is such a kidder, who can say for certain) and that it was a peace sign with some egyptian mumbo jumbo around the circle bit...

maybe someday someone will see it for real and tell us...

Welcome JetGirl! Pull up a chair and set a spell. I've seen every episode at least a dozen (more like 20) times, and I still get antsy after a week or two without seeing one.

FFF.net is by far my favorite Firefly board, and it may even be older that the "official" Prospero board. Adam and Joss post there on occasion, but whenever any of our heroes post anywhere the links get to everywhere else, so we all hear about it!

About the tattoo, I haven't the foggiest. Being hetero male, I noticed, but didn't stare, and haven't looked for it since. (sorry!)

since its from about a week ago so not much has changed except I now spend every free minute here and I just got back from buying the Firefly soundtrack and visual companion from Tower records here in NYC...very happy to see they had them both in stock front and center!

I have no shame on how I am spending my Friday night looking/listening to my new Firefly swag....not in front of you guys anyway..

What means this "shame"?

I started a very similar thread right after I discovered the show. The thread title was "Hi Firefly. Hello pain." if that tells you anything.

It was even worse because my wife and I started watching the box set the day the movie was released - and two weeks later we watched the final Firefly episode and were just barely able to make it to the movie before it left theaters here the next day.

That was a pretty sudden sense of total loss.

This community was quite a salve, though. Just knowing that everyone here went through the same thing (hey, even Joss and the cast felt that way) made it all so much better. Then I started reading all the fic in the Blue Sun Room and writing fic and blogging and doing fanvids and emailing and... well you get the idea.

It's great to be a Browncoat. Except for all the pain.

I sympathize. I'm a newbie too, and in my zeal to spread the word I lent my first two Firefly discs out. I think I might have to be one of those two-set fans, one to keep, one to lend. :-) I've gotten so obnoxious about telling everyone about Firefly, I practically hijacked my fiance's webpage...his homepage is a menu that has a little quote on the bottom, usually from the Simpsons or something. I snagged his Wordpress access the other day (with his permission, of course) and loaded about 50 Firefly and Serenity quotes into it. You can check it out, just go to www.daviddylanthomas.com, and then keep hitting "Refresh" so tho quote changes. I'm hoping people will like the quote and click on the imdb link to see where it's from. ("Join us! Joooooin uuuuus!") I went to his webpage yesterday and the quote was "Mal. That guy killed me Mal. He killed me with a sword. How weird is that?" It was very bittersweet...happy to be reminded but sad both for Firefly/Serenity and Mr. Universe.
