For those who have not heard, there's going to be a firefly game...a MMORPG to be exact. Much like World Of Warcraft, you'll be able to create a character and explore the firefly verse. though it doesn't look like Joss will be playing any part of the development. release is sometime in 2008, check out the full article here. http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-fireflyonlinegame,0,3627670.story

Were I an Alliance citizen during the War of Unification I would have been an Alliance Patriot, but I would have run guns for the Browncoats. No I am not a greedy baby eating monster! Gunrunning would have been the patriotic thing to do.

Yep I must say I am very happy to see that the firefly universe is still expanding! Definitely looking forward to the game and the comic.

Even though I've read about this a bunch of times, it still makes me really happy. I love video games, and I love Firefly. Putting them together equals the best thing ever!!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I am so going to be playing this game.

I want a ship. Already got a name picked out for her.

The "Millenium Falcon"? If you saw the Star Wars Doc on The History Channel the other day, Joss was all over it.

Nope. I like Shenandoah. Not only because it is a beautiful valley along the Blue Ridge Mountains here in Virginia, but because she is the one Confederate ship that never surrendered during the War Between the States. That just lends itself to the feel of the browncoats and the 'verse that Joss created.

I'm all tingly just thinking about it.

I like Nautilus. I know it's space and all, but it was one of the forerunners for all the sci-fi ships we have today. Plus Nemo was trying to get away from everything in his verse.

Sorry, sorry, sorry, don't want to be bursting bubbles here, and the game IS happening, but the release is not in 2008, the beta is. There is a big difference and I don't want anyone to get disappointed. However, if you get your name down for an MMPORG beta, you get two big advantages: 1) you play for free (at least I think that's how it works) and 2) you get to make suggestions and tell the folk in charge what's wrong with their game. Then they fix it and THEN it gets released.
SO! Any hard-core fans who are hard-core gamers, you keep your eyes out for sign-up on this thing, and you get on the beta and make sure it doesn't suck for the rest of us

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

That's neat! And did Serenity really do that poorly? I thought it did pretty well. Maybe I missed something. LOL! This is definitely exciting news, indeed!

This is the first I've heard of this, but I'll tell ya what.....I'll get it when it comes out. I just hope it's not a pay per month kinda dealie, I already play Guild Wars and want a freebie server like that one to play this game on.

Even though either way I'll still get it and play it to death.

I don't think its gonna happen anytime soon, from what I have read Multiverse doesn't even have a stable platform built yet.

BrowncoatCowboy, what VG server were you on? Nice to see another survivor. Man I invested everything in that game, quit EQ2 raiding to work with Sigil/SOE on the Bard from beta to well into release. I finally cut ties and gave up on the game about 4 months ago.

I was on Florendyl, a guild called Halcyon Affinity. They're a former eq2/VG/DDO guild now playing WoW, awaiting the release of AoC.
