Here's a scoop. And it's a really awesome one, trust me, it's one that should be of interest to nearly anyone that has even a slight inkling of wanting to know how things work behind the scenes on a Joss Whedon television series.

The Official Firefly Website will be offering what I'm going to call Project Firefly beginning next week and running through all of November. Basically, the fans will have an opportunity to watch on video how a scene is developed from words on a script to reality on screen.

We'll have the opportunity to follow what goes on from a breakdown session on a scene from Firefly, to viewing scene notes, then a rough script and a refined script, and finally to the actual shooting of the scene, which culminates into our viewing of the dailies. Come December, we'll get to see all this hard work on-air in episode 9 of Firefly.

Is this way cool or what? We'll be the only fans of any television series with the bragging rights to say we were part of the process.

A FAQ of the entire workshop will be available on the official website soon. I'll keep you all posted.
