Jones replied that it was acceptable under American law to kidnap people if they were wanted for offences in America. ... He said that if a person was kidnapped by the US authorities in another country and was brought back to face charges in America, no US court could rule that the abduction was illegal and free him: “If you kidnap a person outside the United States and you bring him there, the court has no jurisdiction to refuse — it goes back to bounty hunting days in the 1860s.”

Or in other words the only country that has a right to sovereignty according to the US government is the US. But wouldn't this be better placed in the RWED?

More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!
No one can see their reflection in running water. It is only in still water that we can see.

sooo... does this mean that the US government wouldnt mind if sweden kidnapped someone we thought was a criminal hiding out in the states?

not bloody likely... and the us government wonders why the world hates them?

pshah! just too bad that the US populace has to suffer for it... (since hating the US often = hating americans in general)

Assuming you understand the rendition policy is a result of the Achille Lauro incident, you seem to be complaining that the United States of America has infringed upon your birthright to murder or assasinate in time of peace (no declaration of War) any United States citizen of your chioce for fun or profit and then run hide behind the skirts of your cleric, or whatever other political leader will harbor murderers like you? If not, then this does not apply to you, and you may get off your high horse now.
I have not seen or heard of rendition applied to any case besides murder, except of course that ridiculous Hollywood movie.

The U.S. has extradited many criminals at the request of reasonable countries it has diplomacy with. Sweden has been one. Iran would not currently fit that classification, since the severance of diplomatic ties, mission, and evacuation of the Embassy.
Do you know of a person hiding in the U.S. after murdering a Swiss citizen that has not been rendered with the full cooperation of the U.S.?

Europe, mainly France is full of escapees from American justice. Included in those vile, lowly ranks of human filth and depravity are rapists, child sodomizers, murderers, and embezzlers of Americans' money. You can keep 'em!
