Joss Whedon also made several trips to the stage, picking up awards for ANGEL (Best Series) and FIREFLY (Best DVD Television Release). I didn’t realize Whedon was sitting one table away from me until he took the stage the first time. His speeches were a combination of warm and funny and hard-earned bitterness. Being able to see further adventures from Captain Mal Reynolds and his crew thrills me to no end, and when I finally spoke to Whedon directly after the ceremony ended, he seemed almost as excited to be able to tell the story as I am to see it.
