Heath Ledger has died. No reason as to why has been released yet. Sad day, he was a good actor.

"And I think calling him that is an insult to the psychotic lowlife community."

I am just shocked! My daughter just emailed me.

We're Batman fans, so had been following the plans for the new movie.

I am so sorry to hear this, he was very young and had a little daughter.

CNN reports he was found with pills, so it looks like either an OD, or suicide.

Very sad.

Wish you hadn't referred to him as

'The New Joker'...Though I know that no offense

was intended , he had relevance as a human being

apart from any roles in TV and film...

I hope that you won't come off the same way in the

future...

I am saddened at his young death , regardless of

the cause...It's a sad day , indeed...

Sad for him , all the people that loved him , and

his family...

Thanks for saying this. Ledger was a great actor and I loved him in numerous rules. He should definitely not be referred to as "the new joker."

A sad day indeed.

Agreed, but Actor's tend to be best known for their biggest role in a blockbuster, and the Joker in a Batman movie is probably his highest profile role to date. Brokeback being his second.

Lets face it, if William Shatner died today, the headlines wouldn't say "Denny Crane dead", it would be "He's dead Jim, Captain Kirk Dies" That was his biggest and best known role.

Heath was a major talent, who will be missed! My daughter loves "Ten Things I hate about You", and my wife and I still enjoy watching him in "A Knight's Tale, and "The Brothers Grimm".

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

It was most likely due to his use of prescription and over the counter sleeping aids. It has been noted in the press over the last few months that he was having trouble sleeping after completing Batman. I think it was an accident. His gifts will be missed. Lets send all our thoughts to Michelle and Matilda.

That's horrible. I thought Ledger was a great actor. I really liked his roles in the Patriot and a Knights Tale. I was looking forward to his version of Joker.

It looks like it will be ruled a suicide from the preliminary reports. If it turns out that way...How does somebody with that much success look at their life, daughter included, and say its not worth it. I can't make sense of it.

America loves a winner!

I saw car w/ a hand painted " RIP Heath Ledger " sign on the back window. The girl driving the car looked to be in her early 20's, if that old. I think many of the older crowd, who don't follow Hollywood or the like, might not know what an impact Heath's death has for a lot of fans.

yeah, i remember seeing him in an early role in an australian movie and thinking "that boys got talent"

he could have gone a long way... he went a long way, but he could have gone farther...

its a sad turn of events indeed...
but i think it was an accidental OD... he had stated earlier that the prescribed dose of 2 pills didnt help and he used double that... he might just have kept increasing the dosage...
and since he had ordered a massage for ½ an hour later (from ordering it that is) i doubt it was suicide.

I only hope that this is all it takes for everyone to finally realize how dangerous prescription, and over the counter, drugs can be. Between all the BS on the news I too feel this sounds like it must have been an accident. He was an amazing actor and I personally will always wonder sometimes about how he might have done this role or that.
