Deadline Extended to February 14th:

We are working on a great way to expand the FF DVD to Troops project. Our new goal is to get the DVDs more directly to the deployed men and women in the Armed Forces. Until some things are worked out & various parties are in agreement, we have been asked to say nothing about the details of this expanded plan. As soon as we can say more, we will. (We REALLY want to tell you!)

Due to the extra time needed to work out the details of this expanded plan & the additional funds necessary to make as powerful an impact as possible, we are extending the deadline of the fund raising drive to February 14th.

1) As of January 28th we have raised $5400 for the FF DVD to Troops Campaign!!! That is awesome people! Thanks to all, who have partcipated & shared their hard earned cash! What's the word? - WOW!!! ;)

2) As for our original USO goal. That has definitely been met, financially speaking. However, the person at the USO, who directed me to send the DVD's directly to the centers, never replied to e-mails sent to them in December. I then phoned the USO near the end of last month & have made better contacts. I am currently speaking to a USO official in a fairly high position & trying to educate him on the nature of our campaign, the promise we made to you, the contributors, & our goals. Some of this involves Soonerdax's question about DVD compatibility in some regions of the world. We are also requesting an official quote from the USO to use in our press release. Hopefully when all is resolved (Did I mention how slow this is going?), we will be sending the DVD's to only those USO centers who can actually play them & the USO will give us a quote for our press release.

3) We continue to work to make your donations go as far as possible. We may have some news on this by next week.

Here's hoping this Extension/Update has provided more insight than questions!
