It sounds very cool and i will be in line the first day it comes out,i just feel like he's afraid to move out of the viewaskew world, which is a shame because i believe he is capable of directing bigger films.Jersy girl was dissapointing, but that doesn't mean he needs to go back to something he said he was going to retire after "jay &silent bob strike back"I was looking forward to him directing " green hornet" i'm still looking forward to " fletch won" and some 1930-ish space series movie(blanking on the title)What i'm trying to say is-while I look forward to seeing these characters again,a part of me feels it's a step back for him.anyhoo what do I know?

I love Dogma. My friends and I watched that movie more than a million times. And the Mooby cow was genius.

Before I found Joss I was of the opinion that Smith was the best director out there. Hell if he can make some stoners from Jersey be responsible for saving the world AND belong to a Union he HAS to be a great guy.

Now I’ve never seen the live action Clerks but I do have the animated series on DVD. I laughed so freaking hard the first and second time I watched ‘em. Lets all do the happy dance for Smith coming back to the Skew Fold! Give us the sequel and no one gets hurt.

I lurk there fore I am.

first of all, jay and bob rule, so i'd give that a big hurrah.

HURRAH!

secondly, i read a little while back that he promised jay that he'd write another jay & bob thingy for him if he kicked some drug problem, heroin i think, so good on the guy for helping a friend.

Awesome movie ... and an inspiring behind-the-scenes story, too. :-) Anything he makes I'm happy to watch, tho' I'm not yet caught up on the more recent ones.

I still think the argument/gunplay at the comic con in 'Chasing Amy' is one of the most inspired scenes I've ever seen, LOL!

Cheers,

I'll travel on any cinematic path that Kevin wants to saunter along. The guy doesn't suck, period. Even his least films are still incredibly entertaining in spurts.

Do yourself a favor and watch the movie. The animated series was good but paled in comparison to the film. It's one of the great all time indies. Great dialogue.

And from what I understand Kevin did promise Jason Mewes that if he got sober, he would write a movie for him. It does seem that Kevin has gotten a little insecure after Jersey Girl tanked. He's going back to what he knows I guess.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Kevin Smith played Silent Bob?! Wow, I had no idea.

I've seen Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, and Dogma, but not Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Was that any good?

Jay & Silent Bob was OK. It had it's moments but paled in comparison to his other movies (IMO). It seemed to have too many D & F jokes and not enough substance compared to his other movies (even Mallrats).

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Director? Really - in relation to both Joss and Smith I mean. Joss is a fair bit ahead of Smith in terms of directing ability, but still is learning his trade - now in terms of writing, that's a different matter.

I'm still a big fan of Chasing Amy, Smith's most "adult" film, but I love all of his films so far (yet to see Jersey Girl due to it tanking in the States and getting only a very limited release over here - shall invest in the DVD).
