I'm watching Stargate SG-1 on TV right now (Sky 1, in the UK), and Jayne is in it!

It's the episode that's the first part of a two-part story near the end of season 7 (I think), where a film crew is sent by the air force into the SGC to document the thousandth trip through the stargate (apparently). Adam Baldwin is playing a Colonel who is commander of an off-world SG team!

I've always wondered if the Stargate producers had long term plans for Adam's character. He's very well written for a one-off appearance.

I know what you mean. I've seen the episode before, and I remembered him as a cool character without remembering it was Adam playing him!

For the record: He's commander of SG-13.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Adam played Colonel Dave Dixon, commander of SG 13. Loved his character.

Adam tried out for the role of Major Sheppard on SG Atlantis, but was turned down as they wanted someone "younger". Shame. I think he would have done wonders for the role & the show.

At the time, I think there was questions (like always it seems) about Rick Anderson returning, and I wondered if they were setting that character up to bring him back if RDA actually left. I hadn't seen Firefly at the time I saw that episode, so I didn't know who Adam was. I just remember thinking that his character was very well done and I would have liked to have seen more of him. Of course, now I know why I liked him so much.

While we're on the subject of Adam Baldwin...

Has anyone else seen the promo stuff for the new version of "The Poseidon Adventure" that Adam has just finished making? I just watched the trailer for it. It's a tv mini-series, and it seems pretty good! Adam seems to be playing the main character (or at least on of the main characters).
