The most interesting character name that still haunts my memory from childhood is:
Napoleon Solo . It is so rich and full of possible meanings (shame on you if you don't know where it's from, young persons).

Let the lists begin!

I liked "Ze Craw" from Get Smart, who considered his name "The Claw". People would say "Hey...its Ze Craw", and he would say "It's not 'Ze Craw'! It's 'Ze Craw'!"

To this day its one of my favorite funny lines of a tv show.

I don't think he was given one in the movies, but one of the videogames starts in a mental ward, and they have Ash on file as Ashley Williams. Don't know if that's official, but it's Bruce Campbell playing the role, so I buy it.

CYBERSNARK

Danny Love (if you don't know where that's from and who played him. . . find out)

Mara Jade
Talon Karrde (bonus points for his ships, the Wild Karrde, the Starry Ice, and the Uwanna Buyer)
Thrawn

Keyan Farlander

Optimus Prime (literally "Best First")
Megatron (they had to fight for that name; 1984 censors thought it was scary [which was entirely the point ])

Accellion (Accelleration Hellion --Literally "fast-moving troublemaker" (the romanji tends to render as "Egxillion"). Possibly the coolest Transformer name ever. Then the American dub renamed him to "Hot Shot." )

David Xanatos ("David" = "enemy of Goliath," "Xanatos" = "death")
Elisa Maza
Demona (especially in light of her daughter, Angela)

Ferris Bueller

Odo (Full form: "Odo'ital" = "unknown substance" )

Jonathan Archer (dunno why, it just sounds cool)
Charles "Trip" Tucker III

Elias Vaughn
Thirishar "Shar" Ch'Thane
Taran'Atar

Marcus Cole

Logan Cale (cool)

Logan Huntzberger (cool, yet dorky)

Nick Logan
Sh'Lainn Blaise
Jefferson Trueblood
Ti-Yet
Ruck

Pilot
Ka D'Argo

Marty McFly
Biff Tannen ("Biff?!?")

Sesshoumaru (it means "Perfection in Killing." It doesn't get more badass)
Naraku (it means "Hell." Apparently it does get more badass.)

Mwu La Flaga
Rau La Creuset

Heero Yuy (1)
Duo Maxwell (2)
Trowa Barton (3)
Quatre Raberba-Winner (4)
Wufei Chang (5)
Zechs Marquise (6)
General Septum (7)
General Ocht (8)
Lucrezia Noin (9)

Roy Mustang
Risa Hawkeye

Robin Sena
Amon (just "Amon")

Ami Anderson-Mizuno (just for the fanwank-masquerading-as-canon)

(From the Cardcaptor dub, which I actually like better than the original.)
Sakura Avalon ("Sakura" = cherry blossom, a symbol of brevity, "Avalon" = symbol of eternity and immortality)
Tori Avalon ("Tori" = "gateway,")
Julien Star
Ruby Moon
Spinner Sun

Some of my favorites:

Leeloo Minai Lekarariba-Laminai-Tchai Ekbat De Seba from The Fifth Element. Say that fast five times in a row!

Duke Leto Atredies from Dune. While we are at it, Mua'Dib is pretty cool too. Has a good sound to it when you imagine thousands of Fremen chanting it like an M-V-P chant at an NBA game.

Agent Smith. Ah, so faceless, so impersonal. It was a great choice of name for the character.

Ted Striker: My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.

MISSTRESSAHARA

How could anyone not put in the ultimate badass name:

Darth Vader: Or was that too obvious to use? I mean when he WAS badass his name sent shivers down peoples spines. And it's just so cool and unique, anyone can be named Agent Smith but how many can be called Vader?

It's an animation but... Elastigirl, good solid superhero name.

And speaking of Superhero's, Clarks original Krypton name Kal-el. Always loved that name.

Leiah, I wanted to be called Leiah when I was younger. It's lovely to hear and say. Not so much Organa (sounds like an opening title for a porn movie)

And that leads me to Alotta Fagina... always funny to see if TBS would put that in considering....

Octopussy, and she was actually called that in the movie. (James Bond written by prepubescent men)

Chewbacca, *rawr*

Inarah Serra. Beautiful name.

Can't think of any others right now.

And now I can almost guesse which threads are going to be Chrisisall's. They just have a flavour to them.

If I'm a bitch, then life just got interesting

And if you know Burgy, you must know the best, most mockable crewman in Starfleet: Ensign Foetus. There's plenty of womb for him here.
