I got into it and LOVED IT! 'Course look at the prequal trilogy and you'll figure out why. I could not put the books down and read them page by page.(Which is unusual for me.) I enjoyed the charater development and enjoyed some of the new added things that have shown up in the New Jedi Order series and were carried over.

THANK YOU!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one, maybe it's the bug thing, but it just really drags. I keep hoping if I struggle through it will get better but it has been a struggle nonetheless.

First one is called Betrayal. It's sitting in my to-read pile, though I don't anticipate getting to it soon. It looks to be another "years later" type deal, which is a storytelling trick that's really starting to annoy me (cheap cop-out, showing character change without explaining actual character growth).

NJO kinda spoiled me for continuing storylines. Picking up the Swarm War left me feeling like I'd missed a few novels-worth of character development. Too "movie" and not enough "TV," so to speak.

The Swarm War took a little getting into for me too, mainly in the space sequences that started to lose sense of scale (IMHO), with the space-based hand-to-hand sequences (seeming to forget just how big X-Wings are). The Jedi are getting a bit too superpowered.

And the whole Jacen/Tenel Ka bit was. . . awkward, both in terms of continuity and character.

That said, Saba Sebatyne is rapidly becoming my favourite Star Wars character. Wacky fun.
