Some go basic, and pick From Russia with Love. Some go hi-tek and flashy and pick You Only Live Twice. Some split the difference and pick Thunderball. Then there's Goldfinger- the classic.

Mine is Diamonds Are Forever; it hit that perfect balance for me of absurd and subtle, of flash and character, and it had Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd...

REGINAROADIE

I agree that DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER is my favorite Connery Bond movie. Yes, DR. NO was a good intro movie for the character, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE has deservedly risen in rank as one of the best Bonds ever with it's more gritty, down to earth approach, GOLDFINGER perfected the Bond formula and THUNDERBALL turned the series into the Cadillac of action franchises. But DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER has that quality to it that's indistinguishable. Maybe it's because it was Connery returning to the franchise for one last time (NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN doesn't count).

Plus, it has my favorite all time stunt in the franchise history. When he rides on top of the outdoor elevator to the top, moves himself to a ledge, and shoots two grappling spikes attached to two cords hooked onto his belt from his gun into the edge of the roof, AND THEN JUMPS OFF. And then not only is he handing on from two cords attached to his belt, but his unhooks one of them, leaving him literally dangling 40 stories above the Las Vegas strip.

It's the simplest stunt in the whole movie, but the way it's blocked and staged and edited just makes your heart leap up into your mouth.

"Have you ever fired two guns whilst jumping through the air?"
"No."
"Have you ever fired ONE gun whilst jumping through the air?"

TRUEBLUE

The one with pussy galore for the line:

Pussy (introducing herself): "Pussy Galore"
Bond: "I bet you are."

To be honest i liked all the connery bonds, except thunderball.

I like Octopussy.

I will think of a signature later. It will be so stunningly brilliant your entire life will pale into insignificance when compared to the few words that will be written here.
