Oh thats sweet I loved that show....had about the same run as Kindred the Embraced (already on DVD). Those were my two favorite shows for the month that they were on. Thanks for letting us know.

we got to see 8 of the 10 on Trio a few years back. They were showing all these great shows that got canceled. They ran a few different series, including Action, for a breif time. It was very cool - especially since I totally missed Profit.

I still remember that kick ass commercial...

Adrian pasdar talks about the spider, there on the park bench, spinning it's web and being all sinister and calculating and junk - then he steps on it and says "Amateur!"

I SO wanted to see it after that, but it was gone so fast, I felt like I blinked and missed it.

Alright!!! Thanks for the heads up on this Rhymephile!!

And Early, nice to know there's another Kindred/Profit fan here (something along the lines of misery loves company ). Before 2002, that was the worst year of television for me. I couldn't believe that both of the shows I was really enjoying got the axe. But had I learned my lesson by the time Firefly and John Doe rolled around? Nope.

I've decided since then to never get into two new shows at the same time.

Whats "Profit"??

"Profit" was yet another prematurely cancelled TV show on FOX, created by David Greenwalt, who went on to co-creat Angel with Joss, and wrote and directed a bunch of Buffy and Angel episodes.

The show was about a brilliantly manipulative, sociopathic man named Jim Profit, who worked in a large corporation. He had the ability to maneuver and set people up to whatever result he wanted them to suffer, and he used this ability to move up the corporate ladder. The show was original in portraying an evil protagonist, as opposed to the usual nice folks we want to root for.

The episode "Dear Boy" in season 2 of Angel and the episode "Angel" in season 1 of Buffy feel a bit like Profit-lite. Darla sets Angel up to take the blame for whatever she wants him to. Both were written and directed by Profit's creator Greenwalt.

This is the first TV show I ever felt "addicted" to. Thanks for sharing the good news that it will be out on DVD!
