Looking good!!

Pretty cool to see the average ranking now that IMDb has opened up the voting after the BDEP. I'm guessing the reason the listed average on the page is 9.0 (instead of the actual average of 9.6) is that some of the total votes are not factored in because the user accounts have not ranked enough other films.

* edited to add: Serenity is also the #5 ranked movie this decade ( http://www.imdb.com/chart/2000s ), the #7 ranked adventure movie ( http://www.imdb.com/chart/adventure ) and the #10 ranked action movie ( http://www.imdb.com/chart/action ).

The movie is not yet elgible for the most important chart - top 250 movies of all time - since it doesn't have the minimum number of votes (although it should be eligible tomorrow - currently at 1218 votes and needs 1250).

* editted one more time to add: If my figuring is correct (always a chancey proposition at best) more than two-thirds of the votes for Serenity are not being factored into the average because those user accounts are not regular voters. So if you've already seen the movie and ranked it on IMDb but haven't ranked anything else, get back over there and keep ranking...

BTW, they also take account of how you vote on other movies; i.e. if you gave Mac and Me, Sliver and Speed 2 10 out of 10 your vote is weighed less than someone who gave those turkeys the stuffing they deserved.
